Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The staff was delightful, and the service was good. We were having a pleasant time until the owner arrived! We ordered breakfast and coffee for our group of six, and we were using our laptops for a class. At 11:50, as we were preparing to...leave, the owner approached us and asked if we were staying for lunch. We informed him that we were actually about to leave. Despite this, he insisted that we needed to vacate because it would soon become busy for lunch. Shortly after, he returned to tell us, "This isn't a dog house" (whatever that meant), and once again, I informed him that we were leaving. There was only one other occupied table in the restaurant at the time. Overall, the encounter was disappointing, and I do not plan to return.More

I received a warm welcome from the staff which was lovely. I ordered a breaded haddock supper to take away and I have to admit it was the best fish and chips I had ever tasted. Up to this point Arbroath or Anstruther fish and...chips were my favourite but this was another level. The breadcrumb was amazing ..More

We'd called in earlier in the week for coffee and cake, and liked the atmosphere and the friendly staff. So we went for a meal on the last night of our holiday and were very impressed with the food. The chef even came round and...chatted briefly with each table to ensure they were happy.More

The friendly team here seem to find the time for a chat and to provide a relaxed eating experience no matter how busy it gets. Menu choices are varied but simple. The food is fresh, tasty and well presented. Value for money is outstanding. This...is a great place for lunch - especially at the end of a long walk!More

This cos place provided us with the best fish and chips we had tasted for a long time. After 4pm no hot drinks are served and the place becomes a fish and chip restaurant and takeaway. The fish was ultra fresh and tasty and could...not have been bettered Fine chips too. Don't expect any other vegetables! There is also a variety of other deep fried foods. We loved it.More

On our visit to Scalloway, the Cornerstone sort of offered itself to us for breakfast, being right at the corner opposite the car park. And even though we arrived more than 15 minutes after the usual breakfast service time, we still got served a delicious...full Scottish breakfast by the friendly staff!More

We visited this place on 11th July. It was spotless and very friendly. The tea and coffee was quickly served and the coffee especially was as good as anywhere. Perfectly brewed. A big plus for us was the small collection of tables just across the...road from the cafe. It meant we could finish our refreshments in the fresh air. Brilliant idea. Highly recommend this place. Terry is a fantastic host, full of stories and welcoming to everyone.More

Our group of 15 hungry knitters stopped for lunch between knitting classes in Lerwick and our visit to Uradale farm. Within minutes of us being seated an army of waiting staff served us a scrumptious lunch followed by a delicious dessert. Service and food were...second to none but it was the friendliness of the proprietor and his staff that made our visit memorable. This restaurant is situated in a very scenic part of Shetland, not that far from Lerwick. It certainly makes for a very pleasant stop.More
