The owners were not friendly when entering the restaurant. As tourists, we didn't feel welcome. The food was average and above all they use a lot of vinegar. We were disappointed; for those prices, quality and hospitality should be much higher.

This is a pretty nice spot to sit for a dinner. Great view over the lake and absolutely populair among locals. We did not make a reservation and were lucky to still have a table at six. Food was very good. A little pricy though....More

Surely the best restaurant in the area. We must have eaten here 4 or 5 times when we visited that week. The Lake Trout was so delicate and the Backhendl totally delicious. At night the sky is just a canopy of stars and with the...More

Fairly big cafe overlooking the lake. The menu is relative small, but authentic. Choose a snack, a main meal (like mushrooms from the area) or one of their delicious deserts, apricot pie was my favourite. It is medium priced but the service was extremely friendly.

Dear Krootdude As we opened up for this season only last weekend, I assume it was last Sunday you are referring to. I was at the Strandcafe until 6:30 pm fixing the sunshades for the upcoming wind and rain. We had some few guests left,...More

Enjoy our unmatched location with the unique view on the mountains surrounding lake Altaussee. We comfort you with fresh products from the region, cooked and served with authenticity and passion. In general, one spends far too little time on the lake shore
