We ate at the restaurant twice during our stay in Kawaguchiko. The warm noodles in sweet pumpkin broth loaded with lots of vegetables is perfect after a day of sightseeing in the cold weather. The noodles which is served in a hotpot is actually sufficient for 2 women with smaller appetites to share. Also try the horse meat sashimi. The... More

This is the first stop of my day trip to Kawaguchiko. Heard so much about this hoto noodle until I've finally tried it & loved it so much. It's a MUST HAVE here! It's served in a big hot pot, serving is pretty big for a small eater. Inside the pot, there's the chewy hoto noodle, some pumpkin, fried beancurd,... More

Two of our Japanese friends took us here. This place is great for groups, unlike other Japanese restaurants. The restaurant pretty much just serves the soup there, but you can also order raw horse meat as well. I don't like raw fish, but the horse meat has a totally different texture, so it was not bad at all. In fact,... More

Exactly what we needed after being up on Mount Fuji all morning. Very pleasant and cosy inside. The food is unique and delicious, you get way more than a regular serving size and it isn't unreasonably priced.

We were there at 1045 and there was already a line! Once entered, very friendly staff (but very busy)! My Japanese friend said this was a local type of ramen and I found out later it was invented to give the local workers a more hardy noodle to eat before work. The portions are HUGE!! The one I went to... More

The portions are huge!!! so make sure share your soup, the restaurant is nice and it is a pretty neat building. It gets very crowded so plan to be early or to wait for a while. The noodles are ok, the broth is yummy with all the veggies.

Apparently, before going to battle, this is the ultimate food the Samurai had. And they surely deserved a healthy, huge, complete meal. The place is very no-nonsense, young people servicing have to run to fulfil the desires of the many patrons. Whole buses discharge hungry tourists. Because you get a big, hot bowl full of delicious and thick Ramen with... More

This place specialises in "Houtou" vegetable noodles and is well worth a try. There are 4 Hoto Fudo stores in Kawagachiko area only and I attended the North Head Store which was a close walk from my hotel "Weekend Shuffle" near stop 17 on the "Red Line" bus. The noodles are made on the premises and the restaurant is apparently... More

There is hoto to eat here, which is a type of local food. We went here after driving to Mt fuji fifth station, and we were all really hungry. The wait for the food seemed very long as w were hungry. It was a huge bowl of noodles and we liked it a lot. We each ate a bowl. The... More

How can such a simple meal taste so good!! I Loved it! I'm so sad I can't have it as a regular meal, since of course I don't live in Japan... It's tasty, It's comfy, it's everything a meal should be and yet a very simple dish!
