Found this pud restaurant just by chance while looking where to eat in the Newark area. Fiskerton is a small little village and the pub looked like the heart of the village as it was very busy and a lovely atmosphere. The food and drink...was really good and we would certainly go back if in the area again.More

Arrived yesterday for late lunch. My friend from Leicester chose this place. I live in Birmingham and we met up for a catch up. Very disappointed from the moment we got to the till. The woman was miserable and unhelpful. I chose the roast of...the day - what a mistake. It arrived so quickly and it was all overcooked. The roast pototoes where burnt, the yorkshire pudding was overcooked and tasteless, the pork was a joke - small portions and it was dry. The gravy was thick and so salty, i avoided it and the mash had too much butter in it. I hardly ate my food. No effort made by the kitchen staff to ensure that the food delivered was nice and tasty. What a waste of money. I wish i had taken a photo. The only part of the meal that was ok was the seasonal veg. I did have apple crumble for dessert but that was burnt at the top. When i went and complained to a guy at the till he said he would feed this back to the kitchen staff. No refund given. Absolutely shocking. It was my first visit and last.More

Went for a meal over the Bank holiday weekend and was impressed. The manager was very welcoming when we arrived as was our waitress, we both had starters and mains and all was cooked beautifully. Nice decor and a great location by the river Trent....We were both impressed how hard all the staffed worked as a team. 👍More

The location of tis quaint pub is excellent, right by the river although too cold for dining al fresco when we were there! The welcome and service was very good indeed and the food was amazing, best fish and chips I've had for a long...time! Well done team Bromley at Fiskerton, keep up the good work.More

Used to come here every week before the lockdown. Oh dear, how far has this gone downhill! Stopped off with the intention to get a bite to eat but thought we’d get a drink first. The member of staff was miserable and grunted a few...things to us. Half a Peroni and half the local beer came to £6.58! We discussed this at our table and came to the conclusion this must be the most expensive beer in the world. Decided to challenge it. Rude staff, no apology. They said they had a dodgy till. They eventually refunded £1.90 but they would only do it on the card even though it was unable to produce a receipt so I have no idea if the refund has been processed, after all we are relying on their dodgy till! I was initially told the manager (Vicky) was too busy to sort it out. Then a different manager came and gave a half hearted apology! We will never ever come back here, absolutely disgusting.More

Great food, great service, great setting. Vegetarians will feel spoiled by the choice! There is a wide and varied menu for everybody, and the wine and cocktails are not over priced. Do visit, you won't be disappointed.

A lovely setting by the river but needs a touch of tlc. Staff were friendly and tried their best but the food was average - fatty meat, unseasoned, bland veg. Plenty of potential here so I look forward to returning in a few years when...they’ve invested and made changes in the kitchen towards quality.More

Came 2 weeks ago for Sunday lunch. So impressed that we came back yesterday for a family birthday lunch. Fabulous! A lovely table, really friendly staff, great service, and the food was some of the best pub food we've had,. Beautifully cooked, piping hot, really...tasty and great presentation. Lunchtime specials are amazing value. Will certainly be back again soon.More
