Cracking little cafe and lovely walk around the Wick nature reserve. NB. We went there after reading a Guardian article about the area (Essex Serpent book based) where the journalist actually went to this cafe but wrote that she'd been to The Loft: Tea by...the Sea. That wasn't even open and is often not, apparently. So don't confuse the two!More

I stopped off here for a spot of lunch with my parents before a walk around Tollesbury Wick nature reserve. The staff were very welcoming, polite and friendly. Our food arrived swiftly and certainly hit the spot. I would thoroughly recommend.

I dont usually leave reviews, but was really impressed with my recent visit here so felt the need to leave one. I went with my parents and my little girl. We were seated and a member of staff brought over some colouring pencils and paper...to keep my daughter entertained. We ordered - food was lovely! Couldn't fault it. Really good sized portions too. I went to the toilet to change my little ones nappy before leaving and noticed they had sanitary towels, nappies and wipes in the toilet. What a lovely little touch if you're caught short! They also provide free food for little ones (puree pouches). Was honestly really impressed. Lovely staff, good food, nice little cafe. Will defo be visiting again 😊More

We visited Tollesbury Marina on our way home following a weekend in Mersea Island, and decided to stop here for brunch after reading the good reviews. As soon as we arrived we were made to feel very welcome. It was a warm day so we...made the most of the sunshine and sat at one of the two tables outside. Brunch was amazing, loaded egg and bacon sandwiches, all freshly cooked with quality ingredients and good value for money. They made sure we had water for our dog and not leaving her out they even cooked her a sausage. I would definitely recommend a visit.More

Excellent customer service throughout. Was greeted straight away and and shown too a table. Amazing cafe with some lovely pictures of the surrounding area. Our food arrived hot and very well presented there was more than enough left feeling very full. The menu has so...much variety you are spoilt for choice. The big TC and mixed grill were amazing. Will definitely be returning the very near future.More

We visited for the first time in a few years, it used to be more of a greasy spoon cafe so we're pleasantly surprised with the new look, however we were soon disappointed, we asked if they served a kids hot chocolate we were told...yes, we also ordered cake, a coffee and a can of drink. Two of the cakes arrived, then the can of drink then the other cake after a few minuites the coffee and the hot chocolates ( 3/4 full ) arrived . There were 2 other tables at the time and plenty of staff so no reason why it couldn't all arrive at the same time. We had to send the coffee back as it was so weak, the cakes were OK, but nothing special for the price. We were very annoyed with the bill it was over £20 for 3 cakes and 4 drinks. They had charged us £3.50 each for the kids hot chocolate. When we questioned the price we were told the only button they had on the till was either hot chocolate or luxury hot chocolate there was no option for a small hot chocolate, we explained if they had made that clear we wouldn't have ordered 2 especially as they were even full cups, there was no offer of any refund it was a case of that's the price and that's it. We won't be visiting again, and wouldn't recommend the cafe, purely on the fact that the prices were far too high (£12.50 for a large breakfast!) , and service was not great.More
