A tip from our host when we arrived from the airport and we headed straight for first lunch on this trip to Madeira to A Pipa. And we were not disappointed. Great starter of very fresh grilled little squids and of course bolo de caco followed by fresh catch of the day - garoupa with boiled potatoes and fresh salad.... More

After a 5hr walk in the mountains needed a hearty meal... Amaaazing lamb stew ordered night before... So tender with rice as a side and potatoes and carrot. The wine recommended was 50cents more expensive than cheapest on menue.... Fantastic. Great place to eat good hearty local food.... Try poncho it's scrummy....

A great little restaurant, no eating space outside which didn't matter to us as it was evening. We arrived around 7.30 and only one table left. Good restaurant located in side street of ponta do cruz. Had lunch with fish, vegetables and fries. Very nice and good quality food. Personell is friendly and professional. Only downside was the big TV screen standing on to loud. Must visit if youre looking for diner in this area.

Just touring the island as the weather hasn't been the greatest. Stopped in the village and found the Rum House then tried this snack bar around the corner. Delicious seafood served in a bustling small restaurant/snack bar. Always a good sign if somewhere is popular with the locals.
