Authentic home made Thai food of exceptional quality. Outstanding value for money. We paid $10 per head for excellent papaya salads and green chicken curries, plus beverages. We visited twice in 3 days for dinner.
Ok, the surroundings and ambience are simple but the food and attentive service definitely make it a great choice.

Amazing food & very friendly staff! We ate here 3 times during our 6 night stay in Maenam. We love traditional Thai food and they asked if we wanted ‘hot’ Thai or not. We wanted local food and that’s what we got, could not fault at all.

Worth a visit.. or several!🤭
We came across this restaurant by chance and immediately felt at home.
The food is freshly prepared and individual wishes are taken into account.
The owner is such a warm lady, whether for chatting or entertainment for children here will really make everyone happy.
If you want to avoid tourist shops and really know how the locals live and how cordial it is, you should visit.🥰

My partner and I stayed in Koh Samui for a few nights, and researched the best place to have an authentic Thai meal (after having several disappointing ones). We found Pooms and decided to walk there that evening. The food was absolutely delicious, we would rate every dish we tried a 10/10. We especially loved the fresh Thai crackers, barracuda curry and the pad Thai, yellow noodles and green curry! Honestly, it was the best meal we had so we returned the following evening! We spent 2 weeks in Thailand travelling around and staying in some nice hotels, but this was definitely the best food we had by far. It’s a small family run restaurant and Aom is so friendly and accommodating! We sat and played cards and ordered dish after dish as we couldn’t get over how delicious they all were. Would definitely recommend and would love to re visit one day when we next travel to Thailand!

The last comments in French dating from 2022 we still went to dinner at Poom's. It was a real treat from starter to dessert. The kitchen is fine and delicious, the boss and her team are very friendly. A small refreshing napkin at the end of the meal crowns the welcome. Go with your eyes closed 👍👍.

We have been going tot Poom's place for the past 20 years, and we can assure you that you want to take a taxi and have dinner af this family restaurant in Maenam. Every dish is prepared with the utmost care, all ingredients are fresh and the pad Thai is to die for. Lovely host Aom speaks English very well and is always ready to give recommendations.

This is a great local Thai place to eat.... We have just spent 3 weeks holidaying in Maenam and visited Poom's 4 times. The staff are very friendly and the food was very good each time. The vegie spring rolls and the tempura prawns are amazing! On our 4th visit we had 3 local Thai friends with us and they were amazed at the food. The prices are very good. The one negative thing was finding out they don't accept cash - we hadn't seen that mentioned anywhere in the restaurant. Will definately eat there again on our return next year!

We stayed 3 days in the area of Mae Nam in Koh Samui in a very quiet neighborhood next to our hotel. On our first night walk we were searching for dinner and we found this exceptional small, local and traditional restaurant. We firstly noticed that it was the only one on the area which had many guests and secondly very good prices.
So we decided to give a try and we can easily and strongly say that is a place who keeps the best atmosphere, food and prices in a country that is focusing only on the money and to trick tourists.
Food was excellent, service was great, polite and smiley and prices more than acceptable.
After this we visited again for second time after two days and everything was great as the first time.
We would like to congratulate the owner and the staff for the good and honest work.
For us the best restaurant in the area. Don't go anywhere else.

We had dinner at Poom's twice during our stay in Mae Nam, and every dish was really good and inexpensive. They also have delicious freshly made fruit drinks.
The owner is a lovely, open and friendly lady who will check on guests personally. We had some really nice and interesting conversations, staying a bit later after most guests had already left.
There are also two very sweet dogs and a cat, they might only be let out later in the evening though.
If you want a taste of real thai food and friendliness, we can really recommend Poom's!

First visit here and we loved the delicious flavours. We do not eat onion and garlic plus being veggies, the food was prepared and tasted wonderful. Staff were so friendly and well spoken English. Highly recommend this restaurant.

We were looking for a local authentic Thai place and decided to come here based on reviews and we weren’t disappointed, Food is very delicious and so fresh. Great service and very reasonable priced. Family run business all very lovely, would highly recommend this place. We have came back 5 times already as the food is so good :)

Me my husband and daughter ate in Pooms most days of our stay in Koh Samui, it was the nicest Thai food we ate. It’s a family business and the food is delicious, the family are really friendly and welcoming. I highly recommended it

Recently we have spent 16 beautiful day in Thailand on Koh Samui, at Mae Nam area. We are regular travellers, have already been so many beautiful, and exotic countries from all over the world, and we usually, after trying out many different places, choose one very good place worth to go back almost every day. In Aonang (also in Thailand) it was the Jungle Kitchen, at Samui it was the Poom`s Place. This year we were travelling with a 10 months old baby boy, so, apart from the good, oriental food, we had to find some place, where the little one feels all right. Well, after two or three days, we found the Poom`s Place restaurant, and we yes, it was "love for the first sight". Good location (quiet, but not too quiet), very good atmosphere, and extremely friendly and gorgeous stuff. Yes the little one is beautiful, and apparently not just for us, but for everybody, who meet him all over the world, but in this restaurant it was even more. No matter how busy they were, they played with him, entertained him, and not just for making us a little room to enjoy the variable delicious meals, but they did it from their heart. I now that my summary is not really about the food, which was fantastic anyway, it is much more about a place, where you arrive after a while just like home. We really loved it. So Dear Poom`s Stuff, THANK YOU VERY MUCH for all your kindness, and for the fantastic meals, we really loved it, and definitely get back to you guys, if we will be around.
