Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We visited this pub on a Saturday lunchtime. I ordered the scampi and my husband had the burger. The pub wasn’t busy but we waited nearly half an hour for our food and when it finally came it was disappointing. The burger was very average...and came with skinny fries. My scampi was seriously overcooked - it was so dark brown as to be almost black! ! I was surprised that the staff thought it appropriate to serve it looking like that as it was so clearly overcooked. I didn’t say anything because we had already waited so long and I didn’t want to wait any more. The scampi was almost non existent inside the very crispy crumb and was luke warm. The chips (not skinny fries!) were however hot. I suspect the scampi was over cooked and cold because the kitchen had to hold the scampi whilst they cooked more chips. Perhaps that also explains the difference between the fries with the burger and chips with the scampi (both said chips on menu). I have to say I have never been to a pub that managed to cremate scampi!!! We may give the Plough another go in a couple of months as I hope this was a one off.More

Awful jerk chicken - dry and no taste , no Caribbean rice and peas and no plantain! They did take it off menu but replaced it with an overcooked frozen fillet of sea bass. With 4 potatoes and 4 spinach leaves !More

Good looking traditional pub on outskirts of Redhill parking is readily available on road . Inside plenty of pictures and ornaments giving it a quaint and warm feel , after getting our drinks from the friendly barmaid we found a table after looking through menu...both decided on Battered fish and chips , it did take quite a while for it to arrive for which the same barmaid apologised for the wait , we learned later from one of the regulars she was on her own that day . Looking at my fish it obviously had been over cooked as the batter was dark brown and cracked when I cut into it and was inedible , my girlfriends looked totally different so would seem were cooked at different times, I decided to leave the batter and just eat the fish unfortunately the fish was dry and tasteless, I was going to mention it but apart from the young barmaid there was no one else to talk too as my girlfriends meal was fine we let it go , I am sure this was a one off and would not put us off returningMore

This is a very welcoming traditional pub with extremely delicious food that you won’t find anywhere else in the area with its distinct Caribbean menu including a jerk chicken burger and goat curry which were both top notch and a rarity! The bar staff are...friendly and there is clearly a local community of regulars as well as those just visiting for food and the family as well as dogs policy, which is refreshing. The garden facilities, although wet weather was in force at the time, looked fantastic and did have a number of sizeable sheltered areas. All in all myself and my family thoroughly enjoyed our afternoon and meal at this little gem of a pub next to a very picturesque church in Earlswood, Surrey. Thanks and we’ll see you again soonMore

Great to find a nice local pub that is a good all rounder for the whole family to enjoy… great food & drink options as well as a lovely wine list! Highly recommend the new rose. The pub itself is old, cute & cosy and...I love the little snug areas. Overall a great cosy little local pub with nice people & staffMore

Now this pub has been brought out of dark ages and into the light (with the help of an end to a long standing no children policy) it is a real treat I never used to give this pub a second thought but now it’s...a place my family and I would like to frequent more often. The new owners have really nailed it….great staff, great company, great entertainment and amazing food (try the jerk chicken or goat curry 👌)More

Hands down the best pun in the area. It ticks all the boxes, from its wide selections of lagers, Ales and wines, to the excellent food, warm, welcoming atmosphere and friendly staff. The building itself has tons of history and is very cozy. It has...a wonderful garden out the back which is great in the summer and most importantly, they are Kid friendly! Highly recommended!More
