Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

A good meal served by friendly staff. We sat out the back in a very pleasant area with many outside tables and chairs.

My husband, myself and our dog where traveling to the west coast of France and looking for a place to stay the night and of course eat ! we spotted this place and booked a room which was very simple but clean with an ensuite....We went to the restaurant which was quiet and ordered our meal, my husband asked the lady who we think was the owner if they had any wine from the Languedoc and she brought a fabulous bottle of buzzet for him I had muscadet and it was also very good. The food was amazing and a total surprise as we have eaten in really high end Restaurants and not had as good, the fish was white and so fresh and very well cooked and presented, there were some lovely touches like the sorbet that came with my husbands pate, but the best part for him was the chocolate coolant dessert that oozed a pool of warm chocolate on the plate fantastic ! we will definitely stay here again and if you travel with your dog it is very dog friendly.More

We stopped by for a quick lunch on our way to the Abbaye du Bec Hellouin. Three course meal for EUR17.50, good service, good traditional French food. Nothing too fancy but solid choice

We had a lovely dinner. Good wine list and specialties of the day. I had a yummy salad with salmon and mushrooms to begin. Then I had the best lamb and vegetables ever! Deserts were a killer. I had the chocolate napoleon and my husband...had a cream and strawberry dish. We highly recommend .More

Three seniors staying near Brionne, noticed this Auberge on a Sunday market day. You can make the choice as to whether you simply dine in the 'cheap' side of the building or opt for the opulent restaurant, which is not as old as it appears,...but the timber work is lovely. The meals offered are on the 'formula' basis and possibly at the higher end, but your surroundings are delightful, with a lovely courtyard outside if you wish to eat in the garden. Service is very courteous, if a bit slow, but our French got us through adequately enough. Our meal was very adequate, but the steak it has to be said was a little tough, although full of flavour. Total bill for three with wine and coffees was about 145 euros.More

We had a delicious lunch from the 17 euro menu - smoked salmon salad, steak tartar and fruit salad. Slightly slow service but it was quite busy but really good value and lovely to sit in the sunshine in the pretty courtyard.

We visited on a Saturday and a Wednesday night on both occasions the restaurant was reasonably full. It is in the middle of Brionne with easy parking opposite. The service was friendly and leisurely, great for an evening out but not if you are in...a rush. Several fixed price menus are available and compared to other auberges in the area it was good value. The seafood starter was very good as long as you don't mind getting your hands dirty, the fish and the lamb were enjoyable. The puddings were also interesting I would recommend the peach melba or the plate of desserts! One unusual thing was that they did not bring the bill to the table but you went up to the desk by the door to pay.More

This restaurant was the first that my wife & I & two friends visited on our recent holiday to Normandy. It was quite late on a Sunday evening and apart from one other couple, the place was deserted, so it lacked atmosphere. However, I'm sure...when it's busy this will vastly be improved. We all had the set menu and we were all quite pleased with the quality of the food. It was n't particularly cheap but the service was good , the restaurant was quite pleasant and overall we decided that we had received good value and we would return in the futureMore
