Excellent service from the moment you come in the restaurant. We never felt "pushed" to order anything. We were given the choice to either sit in the restaurants waiting room (which is a fine living room) to maybe have an aperitif or sit at our...More

First things first. The food here is really very good. Leaving aside any proclamations about Michelin star(s), the food in its presentation, its exactness on taste and portion size, is right on the mark. The 12 hour marinated daube of beef on a pureed mash...More

I could not fault the accommodation or the 6 course taster menu. The meal was provided by excellent staff and the accommodation was to a high standard, as was the continental breakfast, served in our apartment. It would have been excellent value at half the...More

First visit to this legendary eatery in the East Neuk of Fife. It didn't disappoint. We all had the set 3 course lunch which was amazing value at £22. Amuse bouche of tempura of locally foraged Alexander - a sort of cow parsley - we...More

We went for my girlfriends birthday. 3 of us had the tasting menu. The service was first class, the food was magnificent and the price considering all of the above was also very good indeed. Tasting menu for 3 with drinks and a generous tip...More

A family lunch turned into a great event because of the quality of the food and the attentive staff. An excellent menu with something for everyone, topped off by the presentation and the quality of the service. Although higher end dining, it was very reasonable...More

Description
The Peat Inn is owned by award winning Chef and columnist Geoffrey Smeddle and his wife Katherine. With Geoffrey at the heart of the kitchen and Katherine's warmth and care filling the restaurant, they have been successful in building on the very fine reputation of one of Scotland's most cherished destinations.
The Inn has existed on this spot since the 1700s. Today, the Michelin starred restaurant with rooms continues to welcome guests who appreciate the special and very personal experience which is the hallmark of The Peat Inn.
Three small dining rooms make up the restaurant, providing an intimate setting for lunch or dinner. Each room is also available for private parties if required. The reception lounge with its deep sofas and open log fire, creates an atmosphere which is elegant and refined and made all the more enjoyable by the friendly and attentive service.
A few steps from the restaurant is The Residence where eight individually designed luxury suites offer the opportunity for a rather special night away, where the pleasures of the table spill over into a charming over-night setting.
From your aperitif upon arrival to coffee and a liqueur before you have to depart, we are sure you will enjoy every moment of the wonderful cuisine and hospitality at The Peat Inn.
