Wonderful setting in rural North East Fife, Scotland. Made even more lovely by a fall of snow the day before. Our visit was for my birthday and great friends were kind enough to drive my wife and myself there, so we could enjoy the experience totally. On arrival we were made most welcome and immediately shown to our table. Our... More

Stayed overnight in addition to dining. Location - situated an easy 15 minutes drive/taxi ride from St Andrews with the restaurant situated in the small village of Peat Inn! Accommodation - this establishment has 8 rooms all of which are on a split level apart from 1. They are furnished to a high standard with the bed and bathroom on... More

This was an overnight stay combined with meal in this lovely restaurant with rooms. The rooms were beautiful split level suites overlooking a lovely cottage garden. As any visit to a Michelin starred restaurant is a special occasion, all 4 of us had the 6 course tasting menu with matching wines. This was a fantastic culinary experience, every course was... Visited with my mum and brother for my mum's birthday. Thought the food was brilliant, wonderfully rich flavours - fine dining at its best. We all had different mains, me - monkfish starter and pork for main. I don't usually order pork as I find it quite fatty, but this pork was fantastic especially with the black pudding and celeriac.... More

An amazing evening: a piper a magician and some magic produced in the kitchen. Lovely food and a great evening. Thank you to the team.

I'll keep this review short and to the point. We had a fabulous night here and enjoyed the food tremendously. Each new course on the tasting menu was a surprise. The staff were knowledgeable and attentive without being overbearing. I can't wait to come back here for the next special occasion.

It's always a thoroughly enjoyable experience going to The Peat Inn and a real treat. It's a little out of the way - a 45 minute trip for me - but I wouldn't hesitate to make the journey considering the excellent food and tremendous service. I've been four times now for the very good value set lunch which is essentially... More

Were given vouchers for the chefs tasting lunch for a birthday treat and were certainly not disappointed. Everything, from the moment you enter the door, is first class and the service and fine dining immaculate! The plates were a work of art and the food was definitely Michelin star standard served by delightful staff. A truly wonderful experience!

Celebrated our Mum's 70th here on Saturday. It's a superb restaurant and very good value for money. Friendly and knowledgeable staff and food was excellent. Will definitely be back when visiting Scotland.

enjoyed a top-class lunch on our first, but hopefully not our last visit to this famous atmospheric restaurant about 6 miles from St Andrews. The set lunch was beautifully prepared and presented using the finest and freshest local produce, and served with panache by the waiting staff!

Description
The Peat Inn is owned by award winning Chef and columnist Geoffrey Smeddle and his wife Katherine. With Geoffrey at the heart of the kitchen and Katherine's warmth and care filling the restaurant, they have been successful in building on the very fine reputation of one of Scotland's most cherished destinations.
The Inn has existed on this spot since the 1700s. Today, the Michelin starred restaurant with rooms continues to welcome guests who appreciate the special and very personal experience which is the hallmark of The Peat Inn.
Three small dining rooms make up the restaurant, providing an intimate setting for lunch or dinner. Each room is also available for private parties if required. The reception lounge with its deep sofas and open log fire, creates an atmosphere which is elegant and refined and made all the more enjoyable by the friendly and attentive service.
A few steps from the restaurant is The Residence where eight individually designed luxury suites offer the opportunity for a rather special night away, where the pleasures of the table spill over into a charming over-night setting.
From your aperitif upon arrival to coffee and a liqueur before you have to depart, we are sure you will enjoy every moment of the wonderful cuisine and hospitality at The Peat Inn.
