I think you can stay here as well but we went for dinner. Its a wine bar with lots of different kinds of wine, they have aperativo but I recommend skipping the aperativo and leaving room for dinner. The pasta dishes were awesome!

Fantastic location and great food!! Very pleasant service. We had some aperitivo while waiting for our table, then risotto and filled pasta. Everything was fantastic! Highly recommended

The hotel is located in the basement of an old church on the top of Monforte. No two of the 6 rooms look the same. Everything is renovated with the highest respect for the 1000 years old building. The owner and manager is so friendly and helpful making you feel so welcome and home. We had dinner in the same... More

I just love this place. Owned by the wonderful Giulio. Such a charming, friendly guy and he runs this place just perfectly. Great food, amazing wine, and a fabulous atmosphere make for a great evening. Can't wait to return.

The town is a very interesting combination of the old and the new. This wine bar / restaurant is a perfect example of this. The interior with brick vaulted ceilings has been carefully modernised without any physical intervention into the fabric. We arrived in Happy Hour so an excellent nibbles buffet was included in the price of our drinks (wine... More

A very interesting place built into the rock and around a steel frame. It's entertaining the staff are trying hard to please, skipping up and down the many stairs. A bit more attention to detail would be appreciated but no big deal, everyone is friendly. The menu is reasonable and the cooking is very competent. The wine is the big... More

This restaurant has the normal food choice of the Piedmont, which is great. The building is why you should go here. Never seen a restaurant like this and the same accounts for the wine list (barolo from 1941).

This thousand plus year old stone structure, located atop a narrow cobblestone mountain street, houses 6 guest rooms, a bar and trattoria, caverns filled with several thousand bottles of old Barolo's and Barbaresco's and many stone passageways. Host/owner Giulio is an amazingly gracious, intelligent and creative visionary who revels in making guests feel welcome. The rooms are comfortable and basic,... More

I can't praise this hotel (which you enter via a cave ) restaurant, bar high enough. The hotel is tastefully decorated using metal, wood and glass. The rooms are all different and designed with fondness. The food is great, great choice if wine ( with a superbe buffet apéritive offert) and last but not least Giulio the owner likes to share... The Casa della Saracca is an architectural monument in the centre of Monforte d'Alba. It's built half into the rock and through a couple of old houses. There are staircases, tunnels, glass floors, niches. Just make a tour through the building and amaze yourself. There are many small spaces, niches, rooms where you can eat or enjoy a drink, The...
