We visited Chatora twice now, days apart as we were so impressed the first time around.
The service is lovely and attentive. Servers wear face masks at all times, tables are wiped thoroughly, there is hand sanitizer readily available at every level of the restaurant....It is obvious how much Chatora cares about the health and safety of their guests. This is great as you don’t fret and stress about the hygiene of the place and can just relax and enjoy your dinner, which brings me to the food itself.
The first time we were there we thought we’d play it safe and both went for the Chicken Tikka. This is hands down the best Tikka Masala I have ever eaten, and my partner agreed. Tender chicken, perfectly balanced sauce bursting with complex flavours. It was absolutely mouthwatering and divine and I cannot wait to have it again. We also had the lamb shish and the fig rice pudding, both of which were an absolute culinary delight.
A further plus is that Chatora has a bottomless offer on weekends, where you can choose from the set menu and get as much Kingfisher and/or house red/white wine as you want for the duration of 1.5 hours. I was very pleasantly surprised at the value of this, we had two starters, two mains and a dessert to share, washed down with about 3 bottles of ice-cold Kingfisher each - £45 including tips. Absolutely unbeatable.
We visited again today and were just as impressed. My partner had the Pahadi Chicken and kept making little noises of delight. I chose the lamb shank roganjosh, which is a truly massive portion, cooked with organic lamb from Cornwall. The owner takes such pride in his dishes and menu and wants everything prepared with premium, fresh ingredients. It’s so lovely to see this kind of passion for food and you can taste that love in the dishes. This is particularly impressive at times where other restaurants might have to compromise on their food quality owing to financial pressures due to COVID. We are yet to try a dish in this restaurant that doesn’t transport you into food heaven. Do yourself the favour and visit when you’re about in Richmond, we cannot recommend this enough! Would give more than 5 stars if I could.More

Hi Meera, thank you from the bottom of our hearts for taking time to write this incredible review. We are so happy you enjoy your experiences at Chatora's. Looking forward to cooking for you again.
First visit, having enjoyed a takeaway during lockdown. A memorably delicious meal of creative Indian cuisine. Every detail re-created in an original and elegant way. Service was awesome. Will definitely be back soon.
With 100 years of gourmet palates & traditions bound experience, Team Chatora, with its smiling & gracious service, is a must visit, time after time! Jamshed Khan, along side his partners & team of chefs Naseem Qureshi & Sunil D'Souza, have done a super job...of creating authenticity & flavours, that are typically not found in 'Indian Restaurants'. Excellent. We hope Chatora sustains its service and excellence of flavours, for a long long time. Sanjay K SaxenaMore
Fabulously tasty, varied and well presented food. The staff ( I think Dominic was his name) were attentive, funny and professional. I would definitely recommend for a relaxed but exciting and fun evening meal’
I visited Chatora a few days ago for dinner with my colleague. I have been to many other Indian restaurants but Chatora really stands out compared to them all.
The service is second to none. The waiting staff are very attentive and friendly. The food...is authentic Indian, exquisite and delicious. I could sense a burst of flavours explode in my mouth. The food transported me back to India and reminded me of the same delicious authentic home food.
The owner Jam was super friendly, welcoming and made us feel at home. You will not be disappointed for choosing Chatora. You will leave with a bright smile and a very satisfied tummy wanting to return again and again.
Thank you Chatora for delicious food and amazing service. 5 stars all the way through. Can not wait to come back.
Lovely restaurant, but be prepared to pay extra for large groups. Charged over 12% service on our bill for a group of 11.. This wasn't explained by the manager when making the booking, or by the waiter before ordering Vegetarian options very limited and pricey....

Yep this is nothing like the typical everyday British Indian where everything is made from the same sauces but this is exceptionally different - everything is individually cooked. I hope they maintain this so we can go back!
