We were expecting to taste extra-ordinary food, but that didn't happen. The food was very good but not up to the expectations created. Definately worth the visit for the village and the atmosphere but first make sure you book.

We visited Katoi in Smardakito, after having heard that it is a really good traditional restaurant... Not the case though! The service was awful, we had to wait for 15 minutes, standing, just to see the head waiter along with another waiter arranging the evening reservations! After we finally managed to sit on a table, we had to wait another... More

Traditional Greek dishes with the elegant touch of the chef that make them perfect. Roasted lamb in wine sauce, chicken with Greek pasta, rabbit stew are few of its specialties. Grilled plates are also very good!! The location is one of the best on the island

We visited the place twice. As most reviewers state the food was wonderful, feeling homemade, smartly flavoured with local herbes (origano and tarragon, cardamon etc - I can't name them all in english), and nicely combining vegetables with local cheese (like eggplants in baked local cheeses). That was indeed the case, the first time. As we stayed on the island... More

Although, Tinos is full of good restaurants offering a great variety of food, Katoi is a place that should be in your "to do" list. A lovely, traditional spot in the small village of Smardakito (not far from town). Delicious food, cooked with local products, excellent and polite service. Excellent! Note that restaurant opens at night (around 20:00) not available... More

This was a fantastic combination of homemade fresh food and amazing location. The village square is surrounded by a natural fountain, a beautiful church with a gorgeous palm tree and all in freshly painted white color! Food is fresh and there is a large variety of local recipes and produce. And the service was also great especially considering how big... More

Everything we tried was delicious at very good prices! All the staff was extremely polite, friendly and helpful and eager to suggest their best dishes even though the place was quite busy. The scenery is also fantastic! Don t miss it!!!

A memorable village and meal. The road to the restaurant is lined with pink and white oleander plants. The restaurant is next to the church and you are being greeted by the villages in a way that you feel welcome. We loved the tranquility of the place and when the food arrived we totally surrended. Genuin Greek food with a... More

I have been coming to this place for decades and things are probably improved with age. You can call them and use English to book (necessary in August but less likely the rest of the year) and they are not open at lunch. The food is honest and good Greek cooking - better than average. The setting is sublime with... More

You 'll have to walk some steps down and pass through the village to find this lovely tavern near a catholic church and the village's springs. Kids can play in front of the church so be sure to ask a table with a view to the open space in order to have a contact with the little ones. Very nice... More
