Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

A bit hard to find, but very centrally located, the Green Light is a small, family restaurant - they have a hand written menu with a big selection of meat and fish. We started with the sausage which was excellent, and then I had the Prego no Prato (seasoned steak with an egg on top) and my husband had the bacalao a casa (fried cod with fixings) both of which were giant and very tasty. The owner was sad that we couldn't finish our dinners, and so were we.
Graciosa has limited options, but this is a great one.
FYI: beer is bottles only, and it is cash only

Locals drove us to the Green Light because it's a bit of an uphill walk without a car. It was lovely. Great views of Praia. Our food was delicious, steak melted in your mouth.
Such a friendly place. Walk home was gorgeous.

The place can be a bit tricky to find, it's a bit down from a roundabout in a village on a road between Pedras Brancas and Praia - look for the 'Green Light'-sign where to turn off and follow the countryroad for a bit (and check other directions because where not 100% sure)
Anyway, the only choice for us for evening dining on Pico after we tried a couple of disappointments (there aren't many restaurants at all around - and this is the only one that is open all day, the few others don't serve else than meager snacks until 19.30ish - with one exception at Termodores). It is located smack in the countryside, very tranquil - you have a nice mountainview and a bit of the ocean as well. The owner and his wife take really good care of you and give great recommendations. This kind of place with the warmth and homemadefamily feel (yet proffessional mindset) is rare. Had maybe the best Filé Mignon ever here one night, my wife had wonderful fish. Topled with fine wine and yummy desserts, perfect to just enjoy and relax - this is what good life is about!

Had a delicious meal - the chef and server were amazing. The food was fresh, warm and plentiful! The dessert shakes and crepe were also amazing. Highly recommend this restaurant.

As promised, we returned to this restaurant a couple of more times. I never did get the pasta, instead letting the chef choose what was fresh that day.
Wonderful fish with plenty of accompaniments, tasty beefsteak, fado music in the background and lovely people.
Take the time and effort to find this place.

Do not rely on google maps to get you here. Considering how few roads there are in Graciosa, I saw quite a few before stumbling on a sign to this place.
It was definitely worth the search. Thin steaks were fresh and simply grilled. The prices are very reasonable and the restaurant is spotless with a wonderful view.
I will return in a few days to try the chef's Bolognese. I haven't seen pasta offered anywhere else. So I'll update next week when we've sampled other dishes.

Tried here at a lunchtime. Owner had only been here four weeks, but has installed barbecues to do his fish and meat dishes. Waitress was on her first day, but very friendly and efficient.
Plenty of fresh fish choices, not much imagination on the vegetables but that is true anywhere on the island. Good prices, would recommend this place.

This restaurant is off the beaten path, and you may not come across it in the course of your day. But if you make it your destination, you'll be glad you did! It's in a home-like environment, with a kitchen that's likely just like the one you grew up with in your home. The food that comes out of that kitchen is excellent! Very flavorful and plentiful. The owner is on hand, greeting everyone enthusiastically, then running back in to the kitchen to cook. I especially enjoyed the sopa funcho. Green Light was recommended by Graciosa local George Alfonso. I pass along that recommendation to you!

What a great restaurant! It's a family owned restaurant and the lady that runs and cooks is a fantastic chef. I've eaten there 3 times and every time it was a great home-cooked meal. Although she doesn't speak English, she will try her best to accomodate and serve fantastic meal. I will definitely be back on my next visit to Graciosa!
