We visited The Dirty Habit for the first time for our annual family Christmas get together. Although very busy, the service was excellent and the food exceptional. They were very accommodating in arranging for a cake to be brought out for my fiancé's birthday too. The only reason it didn't get 5* is because our custard with the apple crumble... More

One of my favourite places! Great for amazing food and a great local pint. Good for the walkers, the hungry and the thirsty. Another great pub from a great little group of pubs!

Meal with family on a Sunday, Roast Dinner was very good. The kids were given a great fun pack, which kept them entertained for ages. We had a great time and will definitely be going back soon.

Whether you eat outside or inside, the staff are always really friendly and the food is consistently good. The sharing platters are always a hit. Ample free parking too.

We went twice recently with different friends and the food and service was very good. The tables are well spaced out so it does not feel crowded even when full. A really warm country pub atmosphere. As a fairly frequent visitor, we purchased an annual "Peachy friend" discount card for £25; this gives you 20 per cent discount on all... More

We simply wanted a quick meal in early afternoon. We did not have much time and were not prepared to spend too much. Food arrived fast and was very tasty. I would like to go there again if we ever were to be in the area

Description
Theres nothing taboo about good food, so The Dirty Habit pub restaurant in Hollingbourne near Maidstone is perhaps misleadingly named. Of course the name actually refers to the origins of this historic building on the famed Pilgrims Way, close to the North Downs and dating back to the 11th century, The Dirty Habit started life as a brewery owned and run by monks who also allowed weary travellers to rest here as they made their way to Canterbury. Gloriously characterful, The Dirty Habit maintains features from throughout the intervening years, including cosy fireplaces and ovens, gnarly old beams and a long Georgian oak bar too. From the comfy Monks Corner to the beautifully refurbished terrace, theres a space to suit your occasion. While the bar serves a wide range of beers, ales and spirits, as well as a good wine list, the food menu caters for all tastes and budgets, The Dirty Habits award winning chef using locally sourced produce in dishes ranging from traditional British pub grub to more exotic offerings.
