Excellent service, food was delicious. Nice to go somewhere that offers a great menu that lives up to expectations.

My brother and I had a long overdue get together what better to eat than fish & chips by the sea. Wrong, never again, it was presented nicely the service was incredibly slow, restaurant only about 7 tables occupied. The haddock & chips smelt &...tasted very strange we weren’t asked if everything was good. The fish was supposed to be haddock but it didn’t taste like haddock. I did notice other diners had pushed their unfinished fish & chips to the side. So I don’t think I was the only one to think it was awful. Such a shame I will never go again.More
Started with the gin smoked salmon which was very good, then had a beef roast. All tasted very fresh, decent yorkshire puddings too. Lovely surroundings - great view.
Visited here a few times over the past few months after moving to the area, previously it has not been anything special but in my opinion it has vastly improved and we enjoyed a really great lunch here yesterday it was quieter than we had...previously experienced for a Saturday but that’s probably down to the bad weather but the food was outstanding and (with the exception of the bar staff) all staff were polite and friendly. It also has free parking which is an added bonus.More
Had a very limited vegetarian selection on the menu we were given, the staff were pleasant and the food ordered was delivered quickly and good quality.
No beer even though the pump clip said they had it ! and the beer that was on was not drinkable 😝the food was over priced and not very well cooked in that it was greasy
Very slow service. Very limited menu. Poor value for money. We ordered bread and olives for the table. We received a small bowl of olives, three slices of sourdough bread (for 4 diners?) and some flavoured butter - no plates or butter knives. The menu...had recently changed and was more limited than the summer menu. The only vegetarian main dish was unavailable, as it had apparently not been prepped. The chicken and leek pie had been heavily flavoured with a herb (tarragon?) which was not mentioned on the menu, and which gave it a very strong liquorice/aniseed flavour. The pie itself was very big, and generously filled, but very much more leek than chicken, and the chicken appeared to be thigh rather than breast meat. The haddock and chips was generous, but the skin had been left on the fish. The single dessert ordered (rice pudding) had an excessive amount of topping which overpowered the flavour of the rice. Service took so long that we were at our table for well over two hours.More
I had the burger and I wasted most of it because the bun fell apart while trying to eat it, the portion size was ok (definitely not £16 worth), myself and my hubby had chips that was so hard that we couldn't eat them .the...waitress was the most pleasant part of our first and only trip to this restaurant.More
Just popped in for a coffee before having a walk. I think that's the longest I've ever waited for a coffee 25 minutes, no exaggeration, and wasn't busy. However, there was only one staff member making coffee and she had to take orders at the...till at the same time. I think some support for her was needed.More
A few weeks ago I enjoyed a great lunch and posted a review saying I could not understand the negative reviews. Well I now understand fully why customers are left dissatisfied. We called in at about 11.00am and asked to reserve an outdoor table. We...were told these tables could not be reserved but would be allocated on a first come first served basis. We returned at 12.30, took our place at an outdoor table with a fantastic view overlooking Minnis Bay. But we were told they would not serve food to the outdoor tables. .More
My family and I visited for the first time. We will definitely be returning as the location is beautiful. No it is not the cheapest for food and drinks but then everything is going up in price and I don't mind paying for such gorgeous...views and fab service. Our waitress Beth was attentive and polite and when we had a small problem with one of the meals, it was dealt with quickly and efficiently with a sincere apology. The fish and chips were lovely and fresh and a good sized portion too. Really looking forward to returning. It's worth the hour drive.More
Just visited for a quick lunch. Was greeted by a lovely waitress (Debbie) who was extremely efficient, polite and attentive… food was very tasty even though we only had a lite bite. Will be back to sample the main menu one evening in the very...near future. See you soon 👍🏻More
Such a beautiful location staff were lovely and food was way above average .. Superb in fact... no rushed service as all is freshly cooked but worth the wait ... Will be back for sure
Good presentation but food wasn’t great , prawns were filthy with eggs and everything else inside - crab was dry and crumbly… beautiful setting
I’m not sure why there has been such an influx of bad reviews recently from people mostly complaining about having to wait for food freshly cooked to order in the height of summer at a seafront restaurant. What do you expect!?! My wife and I...visited today and I wanted to say the service we received from the young lad with the very blonde hair was outstanding. He was courteous, friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. I imagine these young staff are on a minimum wage with little reward or thanks for what they do, so it irks me when I read reviews that put them down. So I’m leaving a positive review specifically for our waiter. We knocked a star off because the food was not the quality we expect, but we would give the service 5 stars. Thank you young manMore
