Visited here this week with a group of friends. We had been recommended and so glad we took their advice as the meal was superb. Lots of choice, great taste and piping hot! I will certainly be going back.

We visited on Sunday for lunch with family and everything was absolutely fabulous! We have been visiting relatives in Birchington for many years and our meals out to various restaurants have always been average. We decided to try here as it was on the doorstep and wondered why we hadn't gone before. The staff were friendly and efficient and all... More

We were taken to this little gem today by friends who live close by and use it regularly. Very friendly welcome received in a comfortable, warm atmosphere 'olde worlde' venue which reminded us of the 60s. Very good selection on the menu and a decent specials board too. We chose steak and kidney and steak and onion pies with roast... More

We hadn't booked but were welcomed and shown to the only vacant table. We both chose the chicken, ham and leek pie served with roast potatoes, fresh vegetables and individual jugs of gravy. This had to be the best pie I've ever tasted! It was packed with large pieces of meat and the pastry was beautiful. Can't wait to try... More

Lunch for two, the home made steak and onion suet pudding was the best I'd ever eaten, crisp roast potatoes, steaming hot fresh vegetables, bread and butter pudding to follow, polite attentive service, this place should have a Michelin star it really is that good.

What a lovely and quirky place to eat or have coffee. Tried this by chance on the way home from a meeting and so pleased I did. Went for the home made soup and it was the best soup I've ever tasted. Really lovely place and definitely worth a visit. I would definitely love to return.
