Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We stayed over in our campervan for 2 nights, had 3 vegan meals, which were all very tasty, especially Sat lunch which the chef put together for us, which was a chickpea and cauli Moroccan flavoured roulade, with a curry/rice and freshly made poppadoms. Family...run with very friendly and helpful staff, they made a fuss of our dog. Will definitely revisit!More

Absolutely lovely venue. Food was delicious and the staff were very friendly and efficient. Took my 2 autistic boys in with me and they was noisy and fussy. No one batted an eye lid and was understanding of the boys needs. I would highly recommend...this place, if you want a nice home cooked meal and a cosy atmosphere this is the place to go.More

What a fantastic food experience! We ate outside as a warm night and it was buzzing with other dinners and drinkers alike. The food was absolutely delicious and beautifully presented. If you like proper portions then this lovely little pub is the place to come....A great selection and choice is available from seafood, pizzas, burgers, traditional pub fare and specials. Couldn’t fault the service either, with friendly staff and a warm welcome. Will definitely be going back soon and taking our friends.More

Stayed on the campsite and what can I say….the whole stay was just fantastic! Created by a fantastic lady who made already feel at home soon as we arrived. We stayed for the weekend and then he staff in the pub were just amazing, so...welcoming! Food was far above what we had expected! Nothing too much trouble especially as we had fussy eaters with us! What can I say, such an amazing stay…can’t recommend this place enough xxxxMore

We’ve recently moved into the area and the Yorkshire Hussar Inn was highly recommended. We’ve just had dinner here and wow! It was absolutely delicious. We both had the baked chicken with mushrooms, gnocchi and asparagus. The tastes were just gorgeous. Now it’s our turn...to highly recommend this place. Lovely warm welcome from the friendly staff too.More

We stayed for a week at the caravan site attached to the Yorkshire Hussar Inn both of which are owned and run by Peter and Elizabeth, a brother and sister team and family. We ate (and drank!) in the pub every day for lunch and...dinner. Hospitality is their watchword. Dale, the head chef, is a gourmet master offering a varied traditional menu with subtle twists. Every meal was excellent and served by lovely friendly staff. The ‘Boss’ of the pub is really Vicky, Elizabeth’s daughter, who keeps everything running on rails. Her sister, Marie, looks after the caravan/ camping site ensuring Happy campers and everything everywhere spotless and working. The site grounds are lovely, secluded and very well kept. The Yorkshire Hussar is a proper North Yorkshire olde-worldly dog-friendly village pub with a lovely log fire and a great welcome. We have already booked our return in the summer! ‘Hooray & Hurrah the Hussars!’More

Visited with friends for an anniversary meal cannot fault the service by the two barmaids that were working that evening and the food was lovely, however after being seated at the table and tucking into our food we were shortly joined by a black cat...that jumped onto the table it was ob iously very hungry and tried stealing the food this was very disappointing as I belive the cat belongs to the owner and this is a regular occurance . Also dogs running round off there lead I understand this dog friendly pub but they should be kept under control, also various youths using foul language continuously throughout the time we were there is unacceptable, I will not be visiting again and was extremely disappointedMore

We have been staying on the campsite and decided on our last night to treat ourselves to a meal in the pub, me and the wife chose the steak pie and the kids shared a pizza. The pub was busy but the food arrived in a timely manner and nothing was too much trouble for the friendly and welcoming staff.More
