We were gifted a voucher for the 8 course taster menu, without the wine tasting option. The courses were well presented and tasty. My wife was given the vegetarian option as she does not eat fish. We have experienced such menus previously and, whilst not quite the exceptional standard of a haute-cuisine restaurant, it was still perfectly acceptable and we... More

The Nut Tree looks lik an ordinary but very nice village pub. There are a couple of wood burners keeping the place warm and good lighting. The difference is the food. Each dish was cleverly conceived and pretty near faultlessly executed. The day we were there there seemed to be rhubarb with everything! Portions are definitely generous and the menu... More

We visited the Nut Tree for the 1st time last night and it was wonderful. Very rare to find such fabulous food in such a relaxed and cosy atmosphere. I had wanted to take my husband to a Michelin Star restaurant but not somewhere stuffy and posh. The Nut Tree Inn meets this brief perfectly. We will definitely be visiting... More

A one-star Michelin restaurant which combines a pub atmosphere with fine dining. In-between tasters were a nice touch and tasted good. My fish starter and fish main seemed quite ordinary. What were really extraordinary and exciting were the desserts with the crumbliest apple pie short pastry ever tasted. According to friends, the steak was outstanding so was rated the star... More

Went as a party of 5, attentive waiters, friendly without being overbearing, starters were beautifully presented and flavoursome , main roast beef diner was first class, enough to stop me from having a sweet!!! Well worth visiting and will return to try the taster menu

We has a wonderful 8 course taster evening. Beautifully presented welll constructed and very tasty food. Every course was a treat. Superb service and very comfortable surroundings. Our only very minor criticism was that it could have been a little warmer, having said that it was a very cold evening. Our meal was made all the more enjoyable the the... More

Been here about a dozen times now and love the place. Somehow, it manages to combine the impeccable standards of a Michelin starred restaurant with the informal friendliness and approachability of a local hostelry - no mean feat! Mike and Imogen are always about, so it's not like a restaurant where you never see the chef/owners. The other staff (notably... More

We came for a friends 50th birthday meal and what a great night it was. we where in the room at the back as there where ten of us. The food was amazing and nothing was to much for the people looking after us. If I mentioned every dish then I would be here all day. It was all good... More

I took my husband to the Nut Tree Inn for a Birthday treat and we were not disappointed. It's a really special place and definately worth the drive. We have eaten in many gastro pubs and can honestly say that this is up there with the best. I had originally booked the Hand and Flowers in Marlow but changed my... More
