Went with my wife before Abba voyage. Food is really good, decent size portions and fairly cheap. Would recommend the Panang curry.

This is one of the best thai restaurants I have ever eaten at. We ate red curry, fried nodles with chicken, jasmin rice, spring rolls and chicken with a peanut sauce.

The food was good and the service was also really good . Much better than chawell Heath where service was slow and food timing was completely off especially in the delivery of the mains where half the table got their food after the other half...were ready to order desert . How hard is it to heat an already cooked pie and serve with the rest of the Thai order Rating of branch 1 - Whitechapel 2 - Stratford 3 - Chadwell HeathMore

Every dish was too spicy. Staff did not warn or ask about it :( There was no warning on the menu. Terrible next morning afterwards...

right so i was trying to write a google review but it would not let me so anyways…. i came here with my friends&family (about 10 of us) and the staff were able to accomdate the whole of their downstairs area just for us which...i greatly appreciated. They allowed my sister and my 2 friends to come an hour prior to the set time we was gonna come to do the balloons and decor set up (which to add they also put up their own birthday banners which was so nice of them) when it came to all my guests arriving they allowed us to bring our own music speakers so we can have a lil dance downstairs which i thought was amazing and it definately made my day. when it came to ordering the man who took our order (didnt get the name) he was very attentive, checked up on us many times, he would come and check if we needed more drinks or sauces. the food wait is abit long but its expected if you’re a big party, but they made sure they gave us little prawn crackers and drinks in the meantime to keep up fulfilled. one thing i will say is IF you’re ever considering to visit this restaurant please do! i had the best birthday ever and it was mainly due to the professionalism and customer service of EVERY SINGLE STAFF MEMBER who was working that night on the 5th of january. Me, my friends and family made sure we gave them a good tip! well deserved! You literally couldnt fault anything it was amazing. I’ll deffo be coming back again. Once Again thank you to everyone from Thai Pie Stratford!More

Food was very spicy compared to normal thai food and not well presented at all. Bollywood music was playing and the staff were also Pakistani (as are we) so I would say this is a Thai-Pakistani fusion restaurant. There was hardly any meat in the...dishes (think loads of pasta or rice) so without any proper protein we were still hungry. Unfortunately due to over spiciness this meant my children could not eat ANY of the food as it was all too spicy. Normally, my kids love thai food. I ordered them two x £6 kids menu items as well, which were truly terrible, reheated broken fish fingers, bargain basement oven (not fried) chips that I could make better at home. way overpriced and just awful. We spent £50 and all left hungry and ended up going to Mcdonald’s and spending £12 and had full meals there. Complete of money and not kid friendly at all. £5 mandatory service charge. Overpriced. Cash only. Not in a nice area.More

Great service, excellent food (prawn green curry), clean, value for money, byo! Didn't need to book and was seated straight away. Cash only venue but the nearest ATM is a 3min walk away. Take your own booze and some cash - totally worth it!

Ordered once from here and enjoyed the food, today I decided to order some red curry and when it was delivered to me I just received the curry without any rice? Paying 10 pound for a dish without any rice? A bit pricey and disappointing...tbh! First time experiencing this.More

All four of us who dined at Thai Pie decided that we would not eat at this restaurant again. The food wasn't terrible, but the service wasn't up to the standard we're used to, and the atmosphere was slightly chaotic. On the date we dined,...the restaurant was cash only (they did not take card payments) and the menu did not include alcohol. The menu is what I would describe as fusion, combining Thai dishes with Asian-inspired British food as well as popular American-style grills (steaks, burgers and chips etc). The non-Thai section of the menu does not indicate which dishes are spicy and which dishes are not. Do ask. (More on the food later.) To begin with, we were seated on a wobbly table upstairs. The staff left us pretty much alone. We called one of the guys over so that we could order. After we'd ordered our drinks (they didn't allow us to order our food and drinks at the same time, oddly; the man left abruptly, before we could give him our food order), a large group arrived, and we were asked if we could move downstairs, so that the staff could better accommodate the large group. No problem, we said. The staff assured us that moving downstairs would be quieter. If only... The downstairs seating area has a low ceiling with little ventilation I could identify. There also appears to have been a leak at some point, because the ceiling above us bore large water stains. Due to the low ceiling, sound is contained within the room and has nowhere to go. Two large parties were down there with us, including small, naturally excited children. Music was also playing through speakers, adding to the volume. It was quite noisy. In order to seat us at the downstairs table, a lady who was sitting at that table was asked to move, despite the same member of staff having told her earlier that her pre-booked table was downstairs (presumably they had seated her there, then moved her.) Staff did not seem to know whose tables belonged to which customers. On to our order. One person in our group ordered the lamb cutlets from the grill section of the menu. The menu did not indicate that the meat would be cooked in a spicy sauce, so we didn't ask whether it would be spicy or not. Two of us ordered pad Thai noodle dishes and I ordered a massaman curry. The person who ordered the cutlets was not asked how he wanted the meat cooked. When his order came, it smelt strongly of chilli. The person who ordered it tried to but couldn't eat it (though I must note that two of us in the party tried it and thought it was delicious; far more so than the dishes we'd ordered.) This person sent the food back, and asked if he could order something else. He was told yes, he could. But then the same dish came back out again, far less spicy (the person who ordered that dish believes that the cutlets were washed and returned, rather than a new batch cooked.) When speaking to the staff member about the first, too-spicy plate of cutlets, the person who ordered it asked why the meat wasn't cooked for longer. The staff member explained that if it had been cooked longer then it would be rubbery to eat. The person who ordered made the valid point (I thought): 'What if I like it that way?' The staff member seemed annoyed at this. There was also a strange interaction with the staff member who brought the cutlet dish to our table: he asked several times whether the diner who ordered the cutlets wanted sauce with the dish, to which the diner replied no. The staff member seemed to really be pushing the sauce, because even though the dinner said no twice, the meal arrived with two sauces in pots, and the staff member took the time to talk up each one, assuring the diner how very good they were. (Perhaps it was so loud that he missed the diner saying no to sauces?) The two diners who ordered noodle dishes described them as 'average' and 'not special'. The curry I ordered was unlike similar dishes I have been served at Thai restaurants previously: the sauce was thin and the curry was without heat/spice/chilli. More disappointing to me was the rice, which was overcooked, clumpy and tasteless. I ended up picking the meat out of the thin, soup-like dish and eating that. When we asked for the bill, it did not arrive promptly, so we all traipsed up to the counter to insist on it (we had another appointment.) When the itemised bill was printed, it included a menu item that we had not ordered, so we had to ask for this to be deducted before we paid. What a palaver. In summary, the service was chaotic, the atmosphere wasn't relaxing and the food wasn't of a high enough standard for our party to want to return.More

What an absolute gem! I love Thai food and Thai Pie didn't fail to deliver. I had Thai fish cakes followed by Massamam curry, forgive my spelling. It was the best I've had and I have been to Thailand more than a few times. So...that's the food, but what about the sevice? Well those of you who have travelled to Thailand will know what the level is like, these guys are not Thai but their service level is as good as any traditional Thai restaurant. Highly recommend. Absolute gem of a place if you're in this part of London give them ago.More

Up from Brighton to catch up with long time ex-Polytechnic pals. The food was truly sensational. The best Thai I’ve ever had. The Nua Kratiem was so full of flavour and the Thai salad lovely citrusy spicy. And don’t get me started on the chicken...satay. Will definitely be back!More
