We and our fellow diners have eaten here many times: as couples; with young children; and most recently as a party of six celebrating a special birthday. It was a great choice for a special meal the location is fabulous and the food was excellent. I note that there are a few unfavourable comments below but this has never been... More

Great romantic setting for couples. Great authentic food. Brilliant view over the gorge. Drive downhill away from the corniche on the way home.

Engagingly eccentric and alluringly authentic, it epitomises la France profonde of dreams, myth and legend. Le patron appears to do everything himself, being both cook and waiter, yet has time to discuss the food and expand on his philosophy with his clientèle. The set menu encompassed four courses: soupe, entrée, plat and fromage or dessert, with three little extras before... More

Fourth visit in as many years and a combination of many previous comments: fantastic location, traditional feel and delicious food. HOWEVER the patron's standards left much to be desired: Charlie Chaplin meets Basil Fawlty! Obviously plastered when we arrived at 7.20pm: nearly knocked himself unconscious when he walked into the door-frame of the kitchen as he went to get us... More

La Corniche is a charming little restaurant with a red tiled floor, terrace for when the weather's good and dramatically situated above a gorge. The food is consistently excellent and - what is becoming hard to find - traditionally French cooking. The four course menu for 30 Euros includes wonderful soup served in a terrine, entrees sourced from local produce... More

Despite it being a very cold December evening, we decided to have dinner at La Corniche - we had been before in the summer, and enjoyed it very much so were looking forward to a return visit. It was again, just wonderful. Five courses for €30 all cooked to perfection. AND we were the only diners...but this not matter -... More

I am writing this review because people are being very misled by the wonderful reviews on this site and they are not true. We were a party of six and apart from one other couple were the only people in the restaurant. The owner/chef/waiter had been drinking and continued to drink through the whole evening, to the point that he... More

Situated in the village of Brousses and teetering on the edge of the Vallee d'Aveyron, you will be assured of a fabulous view! The food matches the view. There is a relatively small menu, but each dish is superbly designed and prepared, with four courses for 30€, drinks extra. Undeniably real value for money for one of the best meals... More

Run by a husband & wife team. Excellent, efficient service. Set price menu with 4 choices for each course. Beautifully cooked and presented food. Traditional French food at its best. Have spent a number of long Saturday/ Sunday lunches enjoying the ambiance. Great spot on a wet afternoon with the traditional wood burning stove blazing away.

We went with friends on a quiet Tuesday lunch time. The 4 course fixed menu was great tasting and very good value for money. Local food and wines served in a lovely outdoor setting with views over the river.
