The food is the least important thing here. The best are Los Rapidos. Narrow channel between to lagoons making the water speed up and creating nice experience while floating in the water. The food was average.

200 pesos to enter and 300 peso minimum spend if you want to sit on chairs next to the water. The experience in the water lasts only 10 minutes so the fact they are charging all of this feels excessive, not to mention the way...the workers are patrolling the area like police. To make matters worse they seem more interested in enforcing these charges on food and drink than ensuring people are not climbing over or crashing into the protected minerals that line the water. Such a shame as the place could be great and a fun way to spend the day but it isn’t.More
Amazingly beautiful place but absolutely disregarded by the owner. Is unacceptable that such a treasure with marvelous stromatolites is managed by a bunch of IRRESPONSIBLES. Most of the visitors (mainly Europeans) stepping on the stromatolites, hitting them with the kayak rows while the personnel intended...to control the situation is looking somewhere else. We decided to leave the place not being capable of control the sadness and anger the situation generated on us. This place is a treasure that nobody is taking care of. Please 🙏 don’t go if you care about nature. Don’t be part of this disaster. Stop supporting this people that only think on making money no matter how.More
It is absolutely outrageous that visitors are completely scammed at Bacalar Los Rapidos. But that's not all. The fact that you are forced to surrender your own food and drinks at the entrance practically coerces you into buying overpriced items inside. The entrance fee itself...is completely excessive and unjustified. But that's not the worst part. The ban on taking photos is simply unacceptable. This experience was extremely disappointing and frustrating. It's sad to see a supposed tourist attraction behave so recklessly and greedily.More
Crazy prices, straight up extortion. I can eat for cheaper in Spain or Portugal with much better quality. Expect to pay extra for everything. It’s a miracle that the air here is free to breathe
Beautiful location, good food and drinks, good service. Taking great care of the environment. The improvements made to their infrastructure over the past few years are excellent. My only complaint would be the music. Too loud, too distorted, through really bad speakers and there is...no way to steer away from it. Not my personal music taste, so that makes it worse. Why don’t they just let people listen to nature? That’s what everyone is here to do. Enjoy nature. Why force someone’s personal music taste into everyone with lousy quality?More
Don’t waste your time and money here. The natural beauty of los rápidos is beautiful and a novelty to float down the river. However, the staff are extremely rude and charge for everything possible. It’s difficult to get to, when we arrived we asked to...pay the entry fee by card (as our hotel driver told us they accept card), however, we were told by the front desk that it’s cash only. When we were about to leave as we didn’t have enough cash, she pulled out an eftpos machine and scowled at us. The ride down the river takes a few minutes and you have to pay to hire a locker, if you want wifi, and to even sit down on a chair we were told we had to each buy a drink and a meal (not an appetiser). Everywhere is slippery, I slipped on a stair into the water and sliced my arm. This could’ve been easily avoided with some maintenance or a slip-proof layer on the mouldy woodMore
We did not enjoy this place at all. It’s quite expensive for like 3-4 minute ride down the River and the employees are rude. But the worst part about it is that the owner doesn’t not care about the delicate ecosystem here - there are...stromatolites here that are thousands of years old which die if they are touched or stepped on. But this operation lets tourists walk all over these stromatolites- we saw kids, backpackers and even elderly people sitting and walking all over them and influencers posing in bikinis all over them completely ignorant that they are harming this ecosystem. There is only one flimsy sign and it’s not even in English warning people not to touch them. If you care at all about the environment, this place will depress you. Go to Xul Ha or Sac Ha instead.More
While the water itself is beautiful, the trip was ruined by the people who work there. This place was an absolute money grab and the I felt like I was getting scammed the entire time. It’s 200 pesos to get in then they have the...audacity to charge 60 more for the wifi password???? Never in my life have I seen that. But it doesn’t end there. Along the water there are a bunch of tables and chairs to sit at, but when you attempt to use them someone comes running up and informs you that you must buy drinks AND food (which are super overpriced) or you cannot sit. After spending 200 pesos for an entry fee they force you to spend another 250 each in food and drinks just so you can sit in the shade. This place was beautiful but absolutely not worth going to unless you’re ok with being gouged by the owners. There are far nicer and more relaxing places to visit in Bacalar.More
Food is ok. Nothing great, the place isn’t the prettiest, it is nice to be there for a couple of hours at the most. Wouldn’t go back
We had an exceptional time. The place is incredible and it is worth the visit. I love that it truly is for any age and even if you have issues with your knees, you can easily get in and out of the water. The water...is crystal clean and the food was pretty good. Much better than I thought it would be. A few recommendations. 1. Don’t spend the money on the tube - not worth it. Too many people and it isn’t needed. 2. Don’t recommend the kayak. It’s too busy and kind of dangerous as you have to go up ageism’s the rapids through all the people. 3. We preferred not using the life jacket but they are free so try whichever is better. 4. Go early - right at 10. We went right at 10 and stayed until 3. That was a perfect amount of time. It’s gets very crowded around 2. Our only complaint - and it is BIG ONE. The check in process is very frustrating. 1. No one explains how the who precoces works. You get there and they just expect you understand what to do. There were so many people confused. It would just be lovely if they had someone explaining really how easy it is - you go here, then there … and walk here. So we wound up helping others. Just an easy customer service fix. 2. The payment process - which I have noted below in the pics it says we accept credit cards. You try to pay with credit card and this is what she said - it is Sunday - cash only. We were like what? And then she says if you need cash go back to the downtown of Bacalar! Then she says it’s pay day for our staff - only cash. She was miserable!!! And then we scrounge together enough cash (we dumbly paid for a kayak and tube too) and walk away and then she allows others to pay with credit card!! I read this in the reviews elsewhere but sure enough, the same thing happened to us. But guess what, when we wanted to pay for our food, the lady said cash and we said, sorry, we had to give it all when we checked in and she said, no worries, we take credit cards!!!! So yes, these issues are frustrating and unfortunately it was at the beginning of our experience. Good thing we just ignored it all and had a good time anyway and it was wonderful. Just wish their customer service was better. Then it would be an all around amazing time. Fecha de la visita: abril de 2023More
Great place, we spend there all day and we enjoyed very much, the service could be better, we were on a busy day. Could be better: - english speaking staff - cleaner toilets - more comfy chairs around - wifi - must of the life...jackets were huge, so better get more in smaller sizes - difficulty to split a table in two, that's a serviceMore
We liked the place but the service and food was terrible, everything was super expensive (tulum prices) BUT the food wasn’t even good! They’re ripping everyone off, I recommend to visit but not spend money eating there!!!!!
For 8.00 bucks a person it was well worth it ..water was perfect..food and beer was great .staff was attentive
Terrible. Biggest tourist trap. The scene is nice, but everything around it(fascilities/resto) is bad! The staff is super unfriendly.
