We celebrated our 43 year Anniversary at The Anchor!! We love Greek food. We had a fabulous meal outside in a Dome. It was lovely. We had a heater outside as the temperature dropped. Our food was amazing. The lady helped us choose our food....And recommended a lovely Greek white wine. We were well looked after and it was so relaxing. Our food was superb. Pudding too. I highly recommend the Pub for the amazing friendly staff and very very tasty food. If you havnt visited already you must go.More

The Anchor pub
9 of the family visited on Friday 29 October. Everyone really enjoyed their meal and they were most impressed. It may be the last time we are able as a family to do this so it was such a memorable occasion. Efcharisto. Yanakis Protathletis.
My partner is disabled and walks with a stick. There were a number of tables that had reserved on them but when we went to sit on a table that was not reserved we were told that the seating was reserved. No other seating was...available and no one offered a seat to my partner. So much for manners I would always offer a seat on the tube, train or in a pub to a disabled person. I cant believe in this day and age no one would offer a disabled person a seat there must have been 20 people all of whom must also been disabled and blind. The seating area went for for twenty minutes before two people took six seats.
Asked for bar snacks and were told that unless you booked a table that bar food isn't available 5.30 on a Sat night with no more that 10 people dining. Discusted with staff. Later a member of staff did offer my partner a seat maybe embarrassed that the seating had been reserved for her daughters birthday celebration yet there was plenty of space in the dining room to have done this.
Greek pub but lacks the family values for those who are infirm. Never seen an elderly person in Greece stand when a teenager sits.More

No matter how many times I read your review it makes no sense and it doesn’t help me to understand and address the situation.
None of my staff members is aware of this case and no one has kids, so definitely no daughters...More
I didn't expect to find Greek food in a village pub. However, the food is authentic Greek and very well presented. We booked the last table on Friday lunchtime. If you want a Saturday evening you are likely to need 2 weeks notice! The menu...is extensive, the portions good and the food delicious. I will be back!More

Thank you very much for your visit and comments.
Hope to see you soon again!!
Visited today for our first anniversary with the kids. Had such a lovely time, food was lovely and the cocktails were lovely. Kids had the choice of normal drinks or slushy/ milkshake which made it feel like a treat for them too. Plus so nice...to have the trampoline and climbing frames to keep them amused. The food was authentic greek fare with generous portions and very tasty. We will definitely be back, a rare gem of a pub!More
Myself and my partner visited the anchor tonight for the first time and it definitely will not be the last. The brie and Greek dip starters were amazing and both the beef and vegetarian moussakas were delicious. The staff were friendly and very attentive and...the atmosphere was lovely. We had no room for dessert so got some to takeaway. This pub/restaurant was incredible and a must visit.More
