Went to pips as a surprise birthday lunch. We had Bhaji burger and falafel - both meals incredibly filling and beautifully cooked. There was some meat options but the flavours of the vegetarian meals we had (neither of us are vegetarian) were excellent. A delicious Caramel latte, refreshing lemonade and a “Winter Warmer” with ginger were the drinks we had. Service from the staff was first rate with a baby seat provided for our 6 month old. The setting is of course the selling point... a vintage railway carriage and a classic double decker bus - we sat on the top deck. There also an outside area in front of the carriage and the bus. 100% recommend. Meal prices were £9-12 and well worth the value. Two meals and two rounds of drinks cost us £30.50. On site is an organic farm and shop, some lovely quirky goodies purchased there. Perfect for vegans and veggies but meat options too and really flavoursome meals. Cakes looked great, but we had too many cakes at home.

Great food, great service. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend. It was very busy on our Monday mid winter early lunch visit, food took a little while to arrive but worth the wait.

This was my 4th trip to Pip's and it was a delicious as always. They have a great menu with lots of gluten free options. I also can't eat onion so I messaged in advance and the chef very kindly offered to adapt the Raclette recipe for me. it was AMAZING! They always have a great cake selection with lots of gluten free options too. The Persian love cake was delicious. I can also recommend their breakfast menu.... scrambled eggs made with cream! There are also lots of vegetarian/vegan options too. It's worth booking as they get pretty busy but the staff are lovely and helpful. I can't recommend this place enough! I'll be back soon!

The Railway carriage seen from the road has another carriage behind so seating is extended. The menu is inspiring to share as are the cakes readily available on display . The food is cooked to order and is for varied tastes. Best of all is the happy and inspired service provided. So pop in, catch the stationary train and extend your brief encounter!

Really tasty food that was well seasoned and flavoursome We tried 5 different dishes and each one was very well made and tasty. The plates are small and it is a little pricey but worth it for a treat The atmosphere and surroundings are beautiful and service was outstanding Worth a visit. We definitely go again for a special treat now and again.

This used to be a special place for my Partner and I to visit but sadly it’s lost that spark that it used to have. Since the ‘upgrades’, it’s all gone very transactional and isn’t that warm experience it used to be. The ability to just pop in for a coffee has gone, if you’re lucky to get an online reservation then you have to select tiered seating with different menus and it’s just not the same!! It was perfect before and was focused solely on delivering nice, quality food, that you didn’t mind paying a little more for. Now however, it’s all very expensive. I feel the upgrade costs have been passed onto the customer. My partner had the steak frites at £12 which was insanely overpriced and very average. (Photo attached). I’ll go as far as saying it’s become pretentious. Sadly our custom has come to an end. There are now other places in the area that we can enjoy (Old dairy cafe, as one option).

My friend and I came for lunch and we so wish we’d chosen somewhere else to spend our hard earned cash! This place has honestly been spoilt, and it isn’t what it used to be. It’s very pretentious now, it was better when it was more raw and rustic. We ordered what we thought were two salads, but in fact they came out as very small burgers. They were £12.5 each - utter rip off. Nothing else came with them, just a little chicken burger on a side plate. Tiny. I cannot fathom how Pips can charge such high prices for something that is so cheap to produce. All in all our bill came to £39 for 2 coffees and these silly burger things. I so wish I’d listened to friends and gone elsewhere. When our plates were collected we told the waitress that the menu was misleading and also that it was very expensive. She agreed and apologised. However when the guy came to take our money, he asked if we would pay a service charge ! Umm no. Nothing about being sorry for average food, just wanted more £ from us. I think it’s awful that customers are put on the spot like that. On the way out we looked at the cake menu and they’re asking in the region of £6 for a cake !! Go next door into the trading post and they’re half the price. Such a shame that this place has gone downhill. Very greedy and well above their station now.

The staff were accommodating with our request for food to be served separately on the plate for one of our party. They were all friendly and helpful. The food was delicious, sweetcorn fritters, egg’s benedict, brownies and coffee. Although our table was booked for a certain time only, we were able to move outside to a free log area afterwards and didn’t feel rushed out at all. The kids loved the sand pit and the miniature buses to play on, it was a struggle to get them to leave.

In a word... delightful. From the warm welcome you receive on arrival to the sneaky extra cake you buy from the bakebox to take home for later, eating at Pip's is a joyous experience. The staff are all friendly and attentive, quirky seating options include a 19th century railway carriage or a double decker bus and the food is absolutely superb. Perfect for either coffee and a quick snack or something more substantial. The sweetcorn fritters were amazing!

Another delightful lunch here at Pip’s! Just incredible how just a green leaf can be made to taste incredible! Every plate, savoury or sweet looks beautiful. It looks like time and care has been put into every plate, which results in a taste sensation. Our table shared some of the small plates on offer. A gooey, cheesy Mac n cheese, plump tasty mussels and a zingy Asian salad, which was the stand out for me. Accompanied by a curried squash hummus with maple carrots and candied chickpeas and a couple of potions of skin on fries left us a a very happy table! The highlight, though, for my wife and son, were the sweet treats to follow. Persian Love Cake and an Epic Cookie Sandwich. Unfortunately not time to photo as both were devoured but both tasted divine and were stunning to the eye. Service was impeccable, staff were warm and friendly and unflappable. You could tell that the staff really enjoyed working there. On this occasion we chose to sit in the marquee which allowed us to bring our canine companion. The other seating options are great fun. A converted railway carriage with themed rooms along with seating on a converted double decker bus. If you want to eat on the run or simply sit in the garden then the bake box, a converted shipping container, is available for all your take out needs. Quite simply Pips is a joyous dining experience for anyone. Well done Pip and the team!

Delicious light snacks on journeys there and back from Cornwall. The Bakebox sausage rolls were a winner as just too early for lunch but returned to enjoy their small plates. The girls are all charming and extremely efficient and setting worth a look.

Let's be honest breaksfast is not a difficult thing to get right, Pips does well in the breath on offer and quality is good. However, cost for what is offered is poor. Full English for £12 is too much and needs to be revisited. A sausage and couple of rashes of bacon with the usual bits does not warrant the hype. Where is some black pudding either as a whole article or in some form of crumble or crumb. There is more to offer. Aesthetic are pleasing which brings to life the theme.

We booked an old train carriage to have our breakfast in. What a lovely experience, the whole carriage to ourselves! The food was delicious. My partner had the full English and I had poached eggs on sourdough toast. The service was impeccable. Well done Pips.

Half Term Heaven! We sat on the top floor of the double decker bus for breakfast for four - two adults and two kids. The food was amazing (we are vegetarians) and service lovely. Highly recommended!

Absolutely love this place. The food is delicious and healthy, freshly made and reasonably priced. Regularly visit on way to Cornwall. Just one thing…please can you make freshly squeezed orange juice as I think would complement your menu
