Having recently visited following the renovations to the place was looking forward to seeing the changes. On entering staff were very welcoming informing us we had the choice of where we wanted to sit, we chose the bar area as the restaurant was big and empty. We were soon joined by other diners. Food was nice (although in our opinion... More

My first ever time visiting the white lodge, the building and decor inside is very nice. Staff are friendly there is a specials board next to the bar before your shown to your table which could be clearer. It was very busy however I would say service was slow there was no apology for the wait when our mains did... More

This pub recently re-opened with new management. The food was good, as was the service and the portion size was large. I found the cost of drinks a little on the high side.

The White Lodge has not long been re-opened, having had its roof re-thatched and some considerable refurbishment internally, the place is doing its best to build up a new customer base. We went in for drinks just to check it out, and found it warm, well laid out and sporting a period English pub come eatery look. There is a... More

A really nice place with lovely staff. Menu choice is best mix we have seen in a long time. Starter were truly exellent so couldn't wait for the main course. Oh dear, £21.95 for a Sirloin Steak which was as tough as old boots. This was mentioned to the waiter, but was not refelected in the bill. Not the best... More

After being closed for two years we thought we would see what the pub was like after the reopening. Not disappointed, far better choice of cask beer and better kept than before. The menu should appeal to all tastes and the special board had some interesting options. I had the pheasant breasts on a vegetable pie. Interesting and very tasty.

Decided to give the White Lodge a try during the Christmas period and we were not disappointed. In fact went back a few days later for second helpings The place really does look great inside, with a good balance between old and new. The service was warm and friendly, which was great to see. Only thing I would recommend would... More
