Out and about today for a nice Bank Holiday drive and visit to a few garden centres me and the wife decided to stop for a bite to eat. As we passed through Hawkshaw we knew of the Waggon and Horses, but had never been in before. Well what a gem. The welcome from the staff was fab, facility and... More

The Waggon is a regular favourite for us. We visited this weekend and enjoyed a meal with a family friend. The menu is extensive but always beautifully cooked and piping hot. The chefs are always trying to improve the menu and the specials are always worth trying. The special starter was BBQ chicken wings, which my husband had as a... More

A really nice pub with comfortable, modern decor, the Waggon and Horses offers a typical menu of really good, freshly cooked food. Welcoming staff and a good range of wines make this a great place for me. There is also a bowling green at the back, lovely for leisurely summer evenings.

Been going here for many years and it has recently changed hands. Food is always great and there are some lovely new options on the menu. New decor gets a thumbs up and staff/service is always great and they are fab with the kids. Always clean plates all round. Keep it up!

It's been a little while since we last visited and pleased to say the good standard of food and drink remains, together with the friendly reception and service. I tried the special starter of a home made sausage roll which was very tasty sand followed up with the fish pie, not only excellent but piping hot. My wife opted for... More

What a lovely cosy pub. Warm as toast on a freezing cold evening with roaring open fire. The staff are very friendly and made us feel very welcome. Our food was great - so good we ended up halving our main course so we tried both. The veg was really good too - plenty of it and not overlooked. Thank... More
