Very expensive food and not that good. £12 for a glass of wine! Far too expensive. Won’t bother to dine there again.
Excellent Sunday lunch and a really warm welcome as always. Very quick service despite being busy and Bethany really looked after us
An absolute gem! We popped in on a Sunday in the hope they could squeeze us in for a Sunday roast. They went above and beyond that simple request. With our dog in tow, we hoped to be tucked away, they did just that and...gave us not one, but two tables. A cosy sofa area infront of the fireplace, where our dog was welcomed to get comfy on the sofa, and an adjacent dinner table for two, ready for when our food arrived. The staff were great, especially a gentleman (who may have been called Rob?!), who popped over for cuddles with the dog and to bring treats. Whilst we enjoyed eating our roasts, he popped over again with a plate of rare beef and bacon for the dog, a service both me and the dog were thrilled with. We both had the 3 meat roast, everything on the plate was delicious and there were zero leftovers! This will definitely be my new go to for a Sunday roast!More
Family of 7, roast lunch, very generous portions, home cooked and delicious. Will definitely go again.
This is the second visit for us to The Dolphin and both times have been very good. Staff are very welcoming and the food is of excellent quality, good portions and served in a timely manor. Although we are not local, we will be visiting...again. 😊More
Very friendly service & we were looked after by the staff. Great food, so a pleasant visit to the Dolphin.
First time to this pub to eat with friends. First impression was excellent. The moment we opened the door we were made to feel very welcome by the team. Friendly, polite and excellent service. The meal was okay I wouldn’t say the best but was...nice, the cheesecake was a let down didn’t taste of Maltesers (my favourite) in fact had two choc buttons on the top!, biscuit base was just lose crumbs and was served in a glass, was nothing like cheesecake more of a mousse! What I would say is as I suffer with mobility issue and as there is no disabled parking (I am a blue badge holder) my husband had to drop me off and leave me to park, I can’t stand for long but luckily there was a bench so I sat down to wait for him. The the disabled toilet is absolutely terrible and needs serious attention, it was the worst I have ever used, was dirty and the toilet seat was broken! Having said all this the pub was nice and the staff made it for us.More
Great service and friendly staff, and most importantly excellent food. This is our local and in the past the food has been not great. That being said since the pub has been taken over, we were keen to try out our local. This is our third...time of visiting each time the food has been excellent. We would certainly recommend and yes we will return.More
Visited today for a family meal and unfortunately found the kitchen was obviously under pressure. Kitchen got the order wrong and 2 people had to wait for their main courses. It was a shame as we love The Dolphin.
We came as a family of four people on Saturday 28th October. We had the smaller portion meals which were fine and decided to treat ourselves to pudding. Two of us had cheesecake and two had homemade jam rolly Polly I'm sorry to say all...the puddings were quite poor especially as we paid £8 each the jam rolly Polly was a very tiny portion and very over priced and the cheesecake was served in a glass dish didn't taste a lot like cheesecake again small portions and again very over priced for £8. We recently visited the hunters a bit further down the road which apparently is owned by the same people so expected the same sort of meals but sadly the hunters is so much better.More
We wanted a traditional Sunday roast and decided to go to the Dolphin at Hursley , We had heard it was under new ownership and we are pleased we went. We both had roast dinners that we well cooked and plenty of vegetables. The staff...were friendly and we will go backMore
A really nice country pub with pleasant informal dining area - and a garden which would be great in summer. The tasty food was freshly home cooked. As well as menu items you might expect, we enjoyed fajitas and Thai curry. Homemade puds were good,...too. Our server Bethany was helpful, efficient and friendly. They're advertising Christmas lunch, might be worth checking out if you don't want to slave over a hot stove!More
Amazing food the roast was superb plenty of it you can have small regular or large and I challenge anyone to each the large Staff very attentive especially Katie couldn’t fault our visit there and will return regularly
We have just got home from a really excellent meal and service at The Dolphin, made all the better as we live just around the corner. The food was delicious and the service from Joe and Bethany outstanding. It hasn’t been great in the past...but tonight was outstanding and we will be going back next week…. Thank you!More
