Visited Mahab for years. About 4 years ago it had a dip in form but it's back better than ever. Attended last night with my wife. We had chicken hoppers and chicken chat starter. The chat was exceptional. We followed this with chicken samber. I...had a lamb phaal and we shared chips, Kreme rice and keema naan. Have to say that theeal was exceptional. The Phaal was very spicy just how I like it. The staff are very friendly and the main guy remembered us from out last visit. HIGHLY RECOMMENDMore

This used to be a lovely curry house. Today it was yak. Very dissapointing. Hair in food. The only good thing was the nan bread. The rice was like grit. The potatoes rock hard. The tikka massala cold and i dont know what they have...done to the mixed platter.. but not good. Defo crossed off my list of places to go. On the plus side the staff were friendly and knocked the cost of the curry with the hair off the bill. (after an investigation)More

It is clear the chef has changed. We have been visiting mahabarat for years and it was our go to restaurant to guarantee a brilliant meal with great service. What's gone wrong? Lack of seasoning. The pakoras tasted like battered McDonald's nuggets no taste at...all. Me and my partner both ordered lamb dishes which again no flavour to the lamb at all. I had a madras and how any Asian chef can get that dish wrong is beyond me. We also visited on Christmas day and was extremely disappointed and this was the last chance to redeem themselves and they failed dramatically. I was planning on telling the manager at the end however seemed too busy to chat and to be honest the local people in hjndley wouldn't know a bad curry from a good one so one couple having a cob on wouldn't of bothered them at all. With being brought up out of hindley where there are many curry houses/restaurants and partner being an experienced chef himself we can assure you we won't be back. And if anyone knows where the old chef has gone let us know we miss his food!More

Awful, simply Awful Food poor, processed turkey and beef which for the price I would expect more. Jalfrezi was some wierd dog food, rather than turkey. Service simply appalling. Waiters more interested in when to shut up, kick people out and on their phones rather...than serving customers Pretty much every table had empty glasses and getting a drink was a feat in itself with staff (other than one chap who said he was a friend of the owner) completely uninterestedMore

We visited Mahabharat for a pre Christmas meal with great friends who live in Hindley. The restaurant was warm and welcoming and the food outstanding. The Manchuria was really nice and unusual with little pancakes on the top. The Chicken Tikka Marsala was excellent too....The Manager is very welcoming and friendly. He introduced me to Burchalls Tea when we had hot drinks after the meal and I am now a top fan. Even better than Yorkshire tea! We’ve been many times before and I can’t wait to go back. Top marks to Mahabharat.More

Used to come here most Sundays for the sunday menu. That isn't available anymore however it says it is on their website. Kids get given a glass instead of plastic cups. Easily spilt like ours did and drenched our little girl who's 4. Looked more...of an inconvenience to George. Table, cutlery, floor everything was soaking wet but we was given 2 napkins to clean up. Curry was absolutely diabolical. Mentioned to George how bad the food was for him to go into the kitchen to "fuse two sauces together" No, more like threw chillies into it and put it in the microwave. Left most of my food on the plate and asked them to put it in the bin I think if you are not a local that they know your second class and forgotten about. Even one of the waiters on the way out said sorry for how we had been treated. Says it all really.More

After a hard and late days work we were not allowed in because of the way we looked(in work clothes). Such a shame that a working person is not appreciated here.
