Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This was the best starter and main that I’ve had so far this year, and probably from recent memory too! The whole experience was fantastic. Arnaud the chef and owner personally greeted me in the bar beforehand and described what he was going to cook...for us. I was so impressed with how accommodating this place was, as I have a vegan diet and I know restaurants in this part of France are not always so flexible. A good meal is enjoyable, but an excellent meal - you don’t want it to end. This was the case here. The combination of flavours used was quite extraordinary. The staff were also excellent, and very friendly. An absolute delight! Thank you Arnaud and team :)More

My mother who lives here brought me there. Honestly from the outside I thought that'd be the kind of place where you get some comfort food and a basic drink as a nice après ski so I was really amazed by everything the place had...to offer. Charming yet tasteful décor, friendly attentive and knowledgeable staff, great wine list, and food quality that rivals that of much fancier looking establishments in much bigger cities. If you're in the area I highly recommend you make the detour, it is more than worth it!More

We came here for dinner a week ago and had an excellent meal, one of the best we have had in France. We have eaten here before but not for about three years. The restaurant has opened up and there’s now a very pleasant bar...area with sofas etc where they also serve a Savoie range of tapas. What we really liked about this restaurant is the international flavour to the cuisine. We come to Thollon at least twice a year and you do get fed up when frequently restaurants only offer Savoyard cuisine, delicious as it is there is only so much Fondue, Raclette and Tartiflette you can take! The menu was very varied and interesting. My husband had a delicious cray fish soup and I had the hot brei which was beautifully presented. We both had the pork belly as a main course and it was the nicest we have ever had. It was beautiful cooked and tender but was not too fatty and was quite delicious. We both really enjoy pork belly but so many times after you have eaten it you wish you hadn’t, we didn’t this time! The carpaccio of pineapple we had was beautifully presented and lovely and refreshing. Our meal and service by a lovely girl from Estonia I believe, though sadly I can’t remember her name was absolutely faultless.More

Four of us have just finished a really excellent dinner at XV. Despite coming to the area for nearly 10 years, this was our first visit to this restaurant. Everything was really good, from the welcome, the service from our lovely Estonian waitress, and the...food. Three of us had the crevettes which were really delicious and I had the tartiflette. Possibly the highlight was the pain perdu which was the lightest ever. All at a very reasonable price. Can’t wait for the next visit !More

We always eat here when we stay in Thollon. A very warm welcome. Excellent service. The menu is provided in English which is a big help for us non-French speaking Brits!! There is a good variety of dishes and a wide wine list. The food...is well cooked and presented. Booking is recomended.More

We had heard good things about this restaurant from our friends and finally managed a visit at the end of this year's ski-season and we weren't disappointed. I'm not going to recommend any particular dishes, because everything was good! What made our visit really enjoyable...(as well as the delicious food) was the fact that the owners were very welcoming and engaged in enjoyable and helpful conversation with us throughout the evening. Also, the menu was refreshingly different to the usual Savoyard faire that you find in so many of the mountain restaurants the region and we will definitely be returning when we visit again in the summer.More

A great family meal-confit lamb with lemon and thyme was the stand out dish and worth a visit on this dish alone if it is on the specials menu. Foie gras starter was very good too. The restaurant is small and cosy so booking would...be a good idea. Definitely going back in SummerMore

very compact, but very welcoming, we booked quite late in the day, but secured a table for 4. a mouth watering choice, the hardest decision was which dish to try. i chose the Pork fillet in mushroom sauce & it didn't disappoint.

The meal was sensational, I had a great steak with a fantastic coriander spicy sauce that still makes my mouth water just thinking about it. Beautifully presented plate - I loved the sweet potato mash too. Avoid the house wine though, the steak deserves a...better drop. Both my husband and I had the steak, the kids had the chicken and although they are fussy eaters they described it as 'delicious'. The ice-cream and sorbet for dessert got high praise too. It was really quiet on the night we went although we did arrive early so maybe that is the secret. The waitress was friendly and helpful and I am very grateful to her for recommending I go with the coriander spice mix rather than the pepper sauce. It was reasonably priced by Australian standards.More

We had a fabulous experience at this wonderful place. It's very humble looking from the outside. But the door says the complete opposite. The staff are very friendly. We all ordered different food. A must try is the crayfish bisque!! It's mouth-wateringly good!! The porky...knuckle is Devine. My kids said the children's chicken was the best they've had. So def recommend eating here but make sure you book!More
