Having recently moved to the area, the punch bowl was recommended to us. We have been here several times and each time have had issues with food orders and time spent waiting for food. Today will be the last time we will ever return and despite niggles here and there with orders, the service from staff and management is something... More

Visited with friends and we were all looking forward to going, however, there were 4 items sold out on the menu. Ordered starters and mains. Waited 1 hour for our starters the garnish lettuce and tomatoes were very poor, the lettuce looked as if it was on it's last legs. In the middle of our starters, two people had ordered... More

Food and hospitality are both great. They even provided a bowl of dinner for our dog too at no extra charge. We returned the following week we enjoyed the Sunday lunch so much.

Called in while visiting friends in the area for lunch, good menu at modest prices, got a friendly welcome from the landlady. A very pleasant visit.

We stayed here so we could pick up our new puppy. We had had to cancel our booking as I had broken my knee. The owners could not have been more helpful. The bedroom with en suite facilties had everything we required plus many little extra luxuries like a bath robe and toiletries. The beds were warm and comfortable too.... More

Popped in on the way back from walking near Blanchland. Had been here a few times before and remembered it being good. We all had a wonderful Xmas time afternoon by the fire. Ales were all excellent, and we ate some chips and other bar snacks - simple, delicious and generous. Lovely atmosphere and will return next time we're out... More

The main meal was average but could have been hotter! Wasn't very warm at all. The pub was nice and cozy very welcoming and staff friendly. Desert took an age to arrive and was very disappointing when it did. I ordered salted caramel brownie, it was cold very dry and rock solid! Everything a brownie should not be. It was... More
