Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Most expensive coffee I've ever had. 5p short of a fiver..but lacking in taste compared to cafe nero/ Costa. I appreciate all businesses have overheads but I cannot see how the milk and beans would cost anymore than 60p a cup. That's around a 600...to 700% mark up on retail price.More

Stopped off on the way home from Southampton, what an excellent place, centre of town, great coffee, bacon bagels to die for, staff very pleasant and cost is reasonable.

I've been coming to this cafe since it opened. It does the most delicious coffee and hot chocolate ever. The staff are always kind, welcoming, friendly and helpful. It has the personal touch and high standards. (Limited food so more a drink and cake venue.)....It has quite a 'cool' vibe so a little bit barren decor-wise. It used to have more tables which made it a bit cosier.More

Beautiful home baking e.g. lemon sponge, gooey Millionaire Shortbread and cookies with a half pecan nut on top. Very friendly staff especially a young woman in white dungarees who conversed even when evident in the first few seconds that we were hundreds of miles from...home and unlikely to call again any time soon. Very attractive village with ample parking, free in first hour at Bell Street car park which also includes a very well maintained public loo.More

Stopped into kudos for the first time today - had previously been recommended by a friend. The three girls working today were so kind and provided a warm, friendly experience. I had a slice of banana bread - which they recommend toasted with butter, it...was delicious! The coffee was also one of the best I have had in a while! The only thing I think could make kudos better would be some different vegetarian savoury options - it’s very cheese based..! I will definitely be returning the next time I am in the area!More

I stopped in Whitchurch while my wife and daughter were on a tour of the local Bombay Sapphire distillery and came across this coffee shop whilst wandering around. The staff were really friendly and helpful and service was quick. I had the most amazing Bakewell...and a really good coffee. Recommend Kudos as a place to stop for sure.More

Really good coffee and delicious treats! The staff are always friendly & helpful, even when the cafe is busy which it often is. Dog friendly, treats for the dogs too. Also recommend their sister cafe in Stockbridge. Both are popular with locals, tourists and cyclists.

I was in Whitchurch for the weekend (19th March) with my sister, who has a dairy allergy. Kudos was able to provide a choice of milk alternatives and cakes which we could both enjoy. The staff were very good and friendly, the guy who served...us bought the food/drinks over to us and remembered which of us ordered which food/drink - a lovely touch.More

Meh. Coffee was ok. Service was pretty surly. Basic tasks and smiling seem beyond the waiting staff. Nowt special but wasn’t made to feel welcome or valued as a customer. Whatever really.More

Spaghetti Westerns Clint Eastwood style I'll give the Good the Bad & the Ugly!! The morning after Carfest - decided to find the best breakfast via TA, found this recommendation as best in Whitchurch. We use this a lot so we had Great Expectations! The...Good - the food - coffee & tea excellent! Porridge and Sourdough Toast really nice. The bad - you walk in and it gives the impression of a café with table service. It's not. Order at the till, and find a seat. Weird anomalies, as per a takeaway, order a large or regular coffee to go, but not if you sit in. Order a coffee then you can get another half price, if you bring your cup to the till. We sat on the bench seats towards the back. They are way too low and upright, nicely padded though and a nice colour. But not good for nibbling breakfast. I changed to sit at the chair - perfect height! Freeeeeeezing- a breeze running through the place. My partner was really cold (late August), so I asked to close the exit door which was held ajar. They said they were not allowed due to Covid???? Entry via one door, exit via another. Gives the impression its a takeaway. The Ugly - nothing. Summary - its not a customer centric experience. Staff are young (2 young girls), food came out in the wrong order for us, looking for porridge followed by toast, but its all really nice. The owner appeared and had clearly a more customer focus service. Would I use again - yes, food really nice. But next time I'd be very specific about our order, even down to asking for skimmed milk ( my partner has with her tea). My partner used the loos and reported they were nice and clean.More
