We found Blue Ginger in Whitchurch through an online search. We had just arrived from Los Angeles and staying at Norton Park. Restaurant was a little hard to find in a small quiet village on a dark historic street. Luckily we didn’t give up. We...were greeted immediately ordered an Indian beer (on tap) they brought us papadam with several condiments. Our chicken green curry, lamb vindaloo, Biryani rice, cauliflower and garlic naan (freshly baked) were all delicious. Vindaloo is supposed to be spicy and didn’t disappoint. The highlight however was Francis, the owner who chatted with his customers like they were family. He explained to us when he stopped by our table that over the years he has watched many of the kids grow up and they remain customers. If you are in the area please stop by Blue Ginger. Despite being busy they accommodated us and as always the food and service was amazing. The fact that we were remembered from nearly 5 years ago was incredible… such awesome customer service- we’ll be back. Much love from the Isle of Wight. ❤️

We had a takeaway for 5 on Saturday night. To begin with the food wasn’t hot enough. Nothing was spicy, all the curries tasted the same, so mild. We only ordered one mild chicken curry, the rest were meant to be medium to hot. The...raita was pure yoghurt and not raita at all. My son had a Chicken Madras which is meant to be ‘HOT’ but it had no heat at all. Very disappointed.More

My husband and I were staying in the area for the night, we went to restaurant on a Friday night with no reservation, but the owner said he could squeeze us in as they had a spare table for a couple of hours. The food...was amazing, spicy and full of flavour. We both tried something we've never had before and was not disappointed, I had a lamb bhujon, which was very tender and full of flavour, my husband had a chicken rezella,very flavoursome. The staff were polite and friendly, we were told not to feel pressured in rushing our meal and drinks, the service was quick and efficient and while we were there the restaurant filled up very quickly, lucky to get in.More

Myself and several friends met up here for young Ben's 21st birthday. We were all welcomed warmly, and once all seated, our orders were taken. I personally chose meat samosas for a starter, and King prawn Balti for my main course, all washed down with...a pint and a half of Cobra beer. The food was very tasty,and not overpoweringly spicy either. The atmosphere was good and the staff were really friendy. The service was quick. Unfortunately we found the food quite bland. We ordered the chicken momos and the butter chicken. Both dishes didn't have any indian flavour to them and the butter chicken was very...sweet.More

Stopped in this little village for a weekend break to do the Bombay Sapphire Gin Tour. Took a chance on this little Indian Restaurant and was not disappointed. Great food and excellent friendly service. Good choice of dishes for all spice pallets too.

Fantastic dining experience!! Authentic Indian cuisine; professional, friendly, & quick service; clean and recently renovated dining room…. The cuisine was exceptional: tender meats and fresh naan. I highly recommend!!

Eaten here many times. No complaints, just feel that should be informed of service charge prior to ordering. Always left a generous tip, but sadly no more.
