The Jewel of India closed its doors early in 2016. It had genuine good Indian food and was situated just of beach road close to the fountain circle. Currently occupied by a general merchant.

Sorry to disappoint but this venue closed down a while ago and i can understand why. We went there once and never again. It was the worst curry experience i have ever had. Having lived in England for nearly 15 years i expect an Indian establishment to serve authentic Indian food. That didn't happen and we left very disappointed.

As in a group tour, we had a pre-arranged meal here. The menu selected by whomsoever (owner or the tour operator) was very limited and we requested the owner to provide options. It didnt work out well, doesnt work like this in the service industry. At the end, our table was filled up with stuff which we never ate (and... More

Had takeaways (Murgh Makhani/Butter Chicken). Was not bad, but nothing life-changing. Quite a large portion, so good value for money.

I had actually written a review about this restaurant before, strange enough it disappeared. Was that because it was negative? Our experience was not nice. To cut it short - bad service, bad food, bad experience.

The restaurant itself is maybe not the nicest one if you´re looking for a romantic atmosphere. But the food is excellent and the price is very good! If you like indian food this is where you go!

Having had such a fantastic experience both eating in and taking out from the restaurant in May 2014 we returned to get a take-out last week. I tried to find a menu online which is impossible and so had to drive there during the day to get one which turned out to be in the Mr Delivery book, but beware... More

Found this Indian restaurant across the road from where we were staying. Apart from two people in for take-out meals we were the only ones dining in. It says "under new management" in the window so can only assume they are busy trying to build up the business. The chef - a delightful young man from Mumbai - served up... More

In winter I always crave a good, hearty curry that'll burn with taste. Jewel of India caters exactly for people like me. We have paid a visit there three times since discovering the restaurant and the food is always unbelievably tasty. Besides wonderful aromas of spices, chillies and naan, the curries are presented beautifully each in their unique silver dishes.... More

This little restaurant is really a small little gem hidden away. It was by chance that I found them on the internet and I must admit it was the best new found restaurant in our area. The food was authentic Indian cuisine and well worth the money as well. The restaurants location is not ideal but we sat down and... More
