Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We booked this restaurant after watching Remarkable Places to eat. The location and buildings are beautiful and the history of the place very interesting. Our welcome was a little lacking but once seated our waitress was very helpful and took us through the menu. There...are choices at every course and you can share one portion of things if you want to try more courses but not eat too much. You can buy all the wine by the glass too. The food was absolutely delicious - they grow everything they cook. The price was also reasonable. The only reason that I did not give it 5 stars is that the crockery was very chipped. I appreciate it’s supposed to be rustic but it was just a bit too much. I had hoped we would have been given a tour but not sure how you arrange that. Would definitely recommend thank you.More

This is a special place. You will get an understanding of how this masseria is an all encompassing family operation focused on delivering a magnificent dining experience. Everything comes from the ground. The food may seem rustic but that is the point. The pastas, the...meatballs, the olive oil and bread all are from the Masseria. The family clearly is passionate about their efforts to maintain the Masseria in a traditional way. We even saw how they make their own Olive OilMore

Amazing location. The place is stunning. We had a small room just for ourselves. The waiter was not very warm or friendly. He treated us like if we were 2 school children. The food is nice but basic. What you would expect your grandma to...cook. The prices are fair. I would say the restaurant is worth a visit. Not two.More

We took the first available date for lunch, sounds great doesn’t it? But no! Having told them that I require a gluten free menu, all ok! We arrived to find that they have not noted this request. They improvised to provide a GF starter. Afterwards...it all failed! The main course was so basic and poor…. Gluten free pasta with a thin tasteless sauce and 2 anchovies. No gluten free option for dessert which was pre paid! No questions asked when the whole poor pasta dish was returned… no alternative offered for dessert… not even fruit? Then a simple goodbye… complete lack of atmosphere or interest in satisfying a paid for customer!More

Unbelievable experience at the Masseria Le Stanzie for dinner. The service, was exceptional (thanks to you Rocco), the seasonal food was the best food I had on my journey around Puglia. An absolute delight. Book in advance due to demand and have a great experience!

Everything makes you go back to 100 years ago. The place, with tomatoes and tobacco drying outside. The ceramic plates. The trees. The oil making equipment. The food, the way it is prepared and its taste. Very intimate and only few guests are accepted at...a time. A unique ad unforgettable experienceMore

Perhaps the best restaurant I have been in. This as a complete experience from the moment you arrive and are offered a tour, to the service, atmosphere, beautiful surroundings and delicious food. The only confusion was knowing how much to eat of each course (there...were several) as so much is offered. We ended up sharing plates which the waitress offered and still ended up too full for desert. An absolute must if you can get there and all reasonably priced.More

This is not regional cooking or grandmother's cooking or peasant food, or any of the nice names for this sort of food. This is poor people's food. VERY poor people. This is the kind of food that people ate in Puglia in the old days...until they could get on a boat to America, and then they never ate this food again. I am baffled by these favourable reviews. This is what we had (there is no menu--you just eat what they bring): 1. Mixed antipasto, including deep-fried portions of mashed potato, a bowl of beans, deep-fried nothing (a hollow ball of fried batter). 2. Two pasta dishes--fried pasta with chickpeas and pasta with tomato sauce and tiny specks of overdone pork. 3. Main dish--large pasta cylinders in tomato sauce with (I'm not making this up) chopped BONES with a little meat sticking to them. 4. Dessert--Small, flat, dry cakes with a thin layer of jam on top, such as you might find in a very old-fashioned bakery in 1955. The only good thing was the plate of melon and watermelon because it was a decent quality and nothing had been done to it. But the rest! This was NOT nostalgic food or old-fashioned food. This was extremely cheap all-brown food, not attractive or healthy, just starchy and dull, with the amount and kind of meat the butcher would give me free, for my dog. This was all the more disappointing because the building is historic and impressive, and the decor is very charming and tasteful, so you expect something up to modern standards. The wine was ok. The toilet was clean.More

The best place that I ever tried in my young life, I’m not talking about starred food and service but something above. This is not just a restaurant, is an experience: the real meaning of Masseria where passion and love make masterpieces! For italians is...hard to say but I really think that is better than eating home. Everything is their made and farm-to-table so they just serve what the day offers, while you are tasting their creation you can feel the love, and the hard work that they put in it. Local food made in the best way possible!More

Just eat whatever they bring. Portions are huge so two antipastos for four is just right as is one pasta. The 8 hour pork was fabulous as was the service. Ridiculously good value. Worth the trip.

Have lunch in Masseria Le Stanzie has been a wonderful experience. First of all owners kindly help us to visit the Masseria explaining to us the old life there nad the goal of a masseria. This help us to understand where we were and appreciate...the whole environment. Finally the luch time came and it was a really lovely and interesting experience: excellent food quality together with very local recipes. WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE! Good quality-price ratio.More

This masseria was so special it really took my breathe away. The drive up going through the olive groves for miles, you knew you were in for a treat. It really is in the middle of nowhere, surrounded with their beautiful farm, the produce of...which is all served in the restaurant, as well as their own wine. Such a wonderful ambience, and beautifully decorated, in a historic masseria, with homegrown tomatoes drying from the rafters, the ancient olive press, the old kitchen and loom still on display. The food was plentiful and delicious, with no menu, just serving what is available and freshest on the day, and service very attentive, and the value was bewilderingly good. Couldn't recommend coming here more.More
