This is the only restaurant in this small village near us. Went there with a 2 couples from the area and had a really enjoyable meal. Simple food, most of it pre-prepared but tasty. Crowd was largely foreigners living in the area for the summer

I went there on great expectations. But unfortunately, the service was rather disappointing. I asked for the origin of the meat/fish and if it was organic, but the question was not welcomed. Then I asked if they had any vegetarian choices -- and apologized immediately...for the question (they don't). When they served the meat (I accepted the limits) with french fries I told them I don't eat french fries (it was not indicated on the menu), the woman just snapped «so don't eat them». There was not even a shred of adjustment offered (nb: the fish comes with veggies). They don't have organic meat, they don't have vegetarian options, I still ate there but practically no goodwill ... Maybe because I did not wear a mask and I had told them I had a medical exemption. Btw. the food is good, however, nothing really special ...More

Have been meaning to go here for a while & so glad we decided to try it, had a fabulous meal here with friends & wonderfully looked after by Madam, food was beautifully cooked & some lovely choices, one of our party had the ceviche...which he said was wonderful, most of us had the veal in a garlic cream & mushroom sauce, divine, the house wine was really great value, €4.50 for a Demi, all in all a fabulous evening, we will certainly be backMore

For many reasons we have not been able to visit our family home here in the Gironde for some time. We were delighted to find that through all the difficult times En route simplicity jas managed to keep going and continues to deliver its marvellous...formula. Yesterday we went for lunch with two of our neighbours who had not visited before. We all felt that we had a great meal and a great experience. Eating outside under the gazebo is a delight. A puree prandial Kir of one king or another provides an excellent beginning. The food was delicious, the service excellent. Now we are able to be back at our house, in France, where we intend to live, we will return many times.More

We have just enjoyed the most delicious set-lunch at En Toute Simplicité. The restaurant itself has the look and feel of a stylish bistro whilst the food is fresh cooked, made from the finest ingredients, and with starter, mains, cheese, pudding, coffee and wine it...represents remarkably good value. The owners are warm and welcoming, attentive without being intrusive, with plates appearing and disappearing at the perfect pace. A wonderful lunch. We will definitely be back.More

Have eaten here many, many times and am never disappointed. Freshly-cooked food and excellent friendly service. Fanny and Jean Michel provide a superb dining experience, with great value for money.

We were staying at a gite nearby and went to this restaurant for a weekday lunch for four of us. One of our party has dairy intolerance, which we mentioned when we'd booked the day before, and it was accommodated and not made to feel...a big deal. Small set menu but we were all delighted with our choices, great value, charming service and would highly recommend.More

I wished I had paid more attention to another comment about not being welcome if you hadn’t booked... to our défense, we had tried to book but phone network is a bit temple-mental in that part of the country... We turned up at 7pm on...the dot in a completely empty restaurant and were made feel like it was a crime not to have booked. We were told that good tables were for people who had booked, then we were told that couldn’t have crème brûlée because we hadn’t booked (worth noting that none of us actually asked for one...) The full meal was punctuated by passive aggressive comments. As per previous comments, food was pretty good but really wasn’t in the mood to enjoy it. Will not be remembered as a nice evening...More

We decided to try this place after taking the dogs walking around the nearby lake. We asked the Madame front of house if she had a table for five. I don’t have a problem with someone refusing us a table on the basis that we...hadn't made a reservation -that’s their prorogative (even though it was a Monday lunchtime!) but I don’t understand what is to be gained by making enough fuss about the fact that we hadn’t reserved a table as to make us feel quite unwelcome - just say no if you don’t want the business! We are very polite and undemanding! My 83 year old mother went to wash her hands just as she was coming to take our order and this also seemed cause for more fuss and huffing too. Clearly if you are a ‘known’ and regular ‘expat’ and have booked, you are welcomed with open arms and spoken to in English. Not a problem as we speak french well enough but it was just another way of making some sort of point, although what that was I have no idea. It’s a shame, the food was pretty good, especially for the price.More
