Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I visited for Lunch with a fairly large group of Dog walking friends. Dan and the rest of the team made all us (people and dogs) really welcome. Food was excellent and nothing spilled despite complex maneuvering around several large doggos. Will definitely return.

This is a little gem, lovely welcoming staff, great selection on menu, great ales and wine, and the icing on the cake, the quality of the food and potion sizes, means we’ll be back real soon.

Went for a lovely walk up the hill and parked car in pub car park, before coming back for a lovely lunch. Would highly recommend the pie, and fish and chips were lovely and freshly made. Service was also fantastic, and very welcoming to dogs,...so perfect pub for a scheduled pitstop on a lovely weekend walkMore

Visited on Sunday and arrived just after 6. Had booked a table and was glad we had given it was busy. Nice welcome and good atmosphere. Was served by Emily who was very friendly and efficient. Drinks order placed and received in quick time. We...each had a starter and main. Food was obviously freshly made and good quality. Emily checked a few times to see if everything was fine and if we needed more drinks. We will definitely visit again and will try the Sunday roast as it looked fab.More

Bitterly disappointed with customer service at this place. Booked a table for 18:00 on a Sunday. The staff allowed us to buy drinks before telling us there were no roast dinners, no cheese and onion pie, no cauliflower cheese and no coach burgers on the...menu which is just about half the Sunday menu by the way. The staff I dealt with seemed to think they were doing us a favour by us attending there and their excuse was “well we have been busy”. Decided to just have drinks and when I asked for the bill the girls attitude was disgusting towards us. Glad we didn’t eat there and Fair to say we won’t be going there again.More

We found this place out of the blue as we were looking for somewhere to eat near us that we hadn’t been to before. It is dog friendly which we didn’t know, so we would take our dogs next time. As we walked in we...were greeted and shown to a table straight away. There was a variety of specials on the board and a great choice of homemade food on the menu. The staff were very attentive and so was the residential Daschund dog 🐶. The food was delicious 😋 , I had the homemade Chicken Mozzarella Kiev on a bed of sautéed potatoes and seasonal veg, my husband had the seafood tagliatelle and for desserts we had Eton Mess and an ice cream sundae. The price was reasonable and when we got our bill, there was £20 taken off as a promotion which we didn’t know about, that was a nice surprise. Inside it was very clean and fresh, the only downside is the size of the car park, you could only fit about 8 cars in at a squeeze but I’m sure you could park on the road. Would definitely recommend this place and will definitely be going back again, thank you for a great service and food 🙏More
