Fabulous roast dinner with generous portions, lovely fresh vegetables all cooked to perfection! It's a wonderful pub in summer or winter with friendly welcoming staff, comfortable surroundings and a great menu selection to choose from at sensible prices.

We regularly eat at the Rayleigh Arms as it is local to us, and have always had great experiences here with the food and service. We wanted to review it as we hired The Long Room to host a birthday event and we had a...great time! We were able to pre-order our meals which meant that everybody got what they wanted on the day, and, despite there being a large number of us in a relatively small space, the staff were great - friendly and accommodating even though it must have been very hard to cater to us and not much room to move about (especially since we moved the tables when we weren't meant to). We also had guests with severe allergies, and they always cater to them well. Tyler had also been extremely helpful before the event with the arrangements, even replying on the morning of the party when we had to cancel a couple of meals due to illness. We even had our wedding reception here in 2021 and hired half of the pub. It was FANTASTIC and we should have reviewed it on this occasion at the time. Debbie went above and beyond to accommodate our wishes, which included a live band, flowers and decorations, and the delivery of a wedding cake. The area we used was blocked off well and they set up the room beautifully for us. We ordered pizza with a range of sides, also to accommodate different dietary needs, and it was perfect. We really recommend this pub for a casual pub lunch/dinner, but also for private or larger events too, although it is probably a good idea to communicate with them beforehand if you are planning to eat with a larger group as they can get busy which affects the meals available as they do sell out - a risk with a popular venue though, and as the food is fresh and delicious, we don't see this as a bad thing - better to sell out than have lots of food to freeze and reuse because it's not being eaten!More

I cannot recommend the Rayleigh Arms enough! The best food, best service in a lovely setting. Finding a restaurant that does decent roast dinners is really hard but we have now found the place to go. I am veggie & had the vegan bake which...was 10/10, packed with veg & just delicious! Food came out quickly, all our food was nice and hot, such good portion sizes & all homemade - amazing chefs! Brilliant value for money. Can’t wait to go back again! :DMore

On a recommendation we booked a table for 4 to Sunday Lunch & we weren’t disappointed. All four of us opted for roast dinners of lamb or beef which was delicious & well portioned, the roast potatoes were excellent and there was a good selection...of vegetables. Desserts were equally good with a good selection to choose from but get in quick as some had all been served but then it was late almost 4pm by the time we had our desserts, I can personally recommend the Apple crumble. Staff were welcoming, attentive & after leaving with a sated appetite we will definitely be returning.More

My partner and I just had a lovely late lunch at the pub. I had the roast lamb which was really good - the potatoes were excellent. My partner had the ribeye steak with the peppercorn sauce and all the trimmings. He really enjoyed his...but did say that the sauce was a bit overpowering. The staff were really friendly and attentive and there was a good atmosphere about the place. We will definitely return and highly recommend.More

We had a fantastic Sunday lunch at The Rayleigh Arms. We all had a roast and everyone thoroughly enjoyed it. The portion sizes were large and everything was perfectly cooked. The desserts were delicious too and we gave the meal 11/10! The added bonus was...they accept dogs in the bar area so it was perfect for us after our morning walk around the beautiful village. Highly recommended. We will most certainly be back soon.More

We had another great meal at this warm, welcoming restaurant. The staff are lovely and friendly and the food is very good. We had fish and chips this time but have also really enjoyed their Sunday dinners and homemade pizzas in the past. This pub...is definitely on our favourites list now. Had the best meal at the restaurant; staff were so helpful and even moved us so we could have a better table away from the happy revellers. I left my handbag there and didn’t realise until we were leaving our rental accommodation a week later.... Realised I had probably left it at the pub , called in and it was there ! Safely locked away . The staff had found it and kept it safe. So grateful , many thanks to the amazing team .More
