This pub manages to welcome visitors and obviously have a loyal following of locals. I booked a table only just before going and was met by name which was lovely. The food was good, I had the ribeye steak and chips and it was so...large I couldn't manage one of the lovely sounding desserts. The pizzas also looked great! It was also dog friendly and indeed dog welcoming with treats on the bar. Definitely worth a visit when you're in the area.More

This is a great pub, fabulous atmosphere and friendly locals. We went because the menu looked amazing, all our favourite things! The food is really good but the portion sizes are quite small for what you are paying and in comparison with other places. Avoid...the desserts, they are £8, which is a lot, and really tiny - but nice. Our bill was pretty big for 2 people and we left hungry!More

Sunday dinner... Come on! It arrived on a huge plate, with several dishes of EXTRA veg just incase you were a small family masquerading as one man :-D Seriously though, we walked from Morchard Bishop while on holiday before Christmas as the London Inn was...fully booked. We certainly had the calories to get us back after the massive, super-tasty dinner, and a few well kept Exeter Brewery beers, and I didn't so much care about the cold drizzle as I had my beer jacket on. The bar looked great, full of characters, the way a 'local' should be. If I lived round that way, I'd be quite happy to join that merry throng regularly.More

We ended up at this lovely pub, due to another one randomly being closed. The food is proper home cooked grub and lovely. The bar itself appeared to have mainly locals who were all friendly. There is also a pool table, which now is almost...unheard of in a pub. We had the pizzas and they were delicious. We’re vegetarians, but one of us doesn’t have diary either and the staff catered for that, the best they could. The only thing I would say is that on the menu, there isn’t a great selection for anyone who is dairy free and even quite limited (nowadays) for a veggie, but the rest of the menu looked lovely. It is also dog friendly. Staff very friendly.More

Tucked away in Lapford, what a lovely place. The bar area was full of good natured locals. The restaurant area was also really full but the staff worked like trojans to keep everyone happy. The food is very reasonably priced and tasty. We will certainly...be back.More

The pub works well for both locals and visitors. We stayed on a Saturday night, the food and accommodation were wonderful. Breakfast was one of the best I've had with top quality produce cooked perfectly. Thank you.

Lovely pub. A couple of well kept local ales. Food was delicious. I had ham, egg and chips and the ham was so tender. No chewy bits, very very little fat just really good home grown ham! Good portions without being over the top. Definitely...recommendMore

Well what can I say... the very very best Sunday lunch I have ever had in my life and I'm 75 and have many Sunday roasts in my time. It was perfect in every way. The veg was so fresh, the cauliflower cheese was the...best ever. The turkey and beef couldn't be beaten. Everything was superb. First time there. Pity it's over an hour from our home. I'm a very first eater and this was a traditional roast of exceptional quality and they're was plenty of it at a very reasonable price. The whole pub was packed and the staff were doing their absolute best under the circumstances and were very friendly and polite. Unfortunately we didn't have time for desert but it looked wonderful. I couldn't recommend The Old Malt scoop Inn, Lapford more highly.More

Lovely village pub with character. Really lovely inside too, lots of different knooks/areas for either dining or just having a drink. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the menu was quite extensive. Lots of choice on the menu with a few extra ‘specials...thrown in too! Seemed to be very popular, especially with young adults. Really enjoyed our meals and would definitely recommend/return : )))More

We have just had dinner. I had salmon and my husband had home made steak pie and potatoes, and both meals were superb, and I’m fussy.

Stayed for two nights whilst visiting friends in the area.Firstly the accommodation was excellent, spotlessly clean with a very comfortable bed and a very good shower. We fancied the Sunday roast but were out until the evening but even though the lunches finished at 2.30 and we...were not eating until gone 6pm they still did us a roast dinner which was very nice.Breakfast was excellent and freshly cooked and all the ingredients were of an excellent quality. The owners,Jonathan and Catriona were extremely welcoming and even picked us up from the party we attended when we couldn't get a cab back to the pub.Lastly the pub itself had a great atmosphere with very friendly locals.Would highly recommend a visitMore

A last minute find and we're so glad we ended up there! Super friendly staff, excellent food and comfortable, spotless accommodation. We spent much time in the beer garden on a picnic blanket with views over the field. The breakfast was faultless and the dirty...fries devine! A thoroughly enjoyable stay and we'd all highly recommend visiting.More

Lovely village pub and nice food. The staff were very welcoming and helpful (especially as we were very early for our table). Unfortunately, one item we ordered was not available and the waitress wasn’t able to advise on the difference of the alternative so one...person had to pick a different menu choice. However, all the food was really nice, incredibly tasty and arrived in good time (pub was really busy with a large event). We would happy visit this pub again!More
