Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

As I approached my 'special' birthday there was only one choice for where to ask the family to join us for Sunday lunch, The Cider Barn! The barn is lovely in every season but somehow winter cosiness it does best, joyfully lit with small lights...and beautiful candles it is the most lovely, welcoming, atmosphere to walk into. From the first, would. you like a glass of cider or apple juice to the final, thank you! Please come again! Everything is perfect. The food is delicious, not over the top but original and beautifully presented and the service is spot on, just there enough and able to smile sweetly through people making choices and changing their minds, wonderful everyone, thank you for making my day so very special! I would have no hesitation in recommending it for a simple lunch a deux to a family meal, as ours was yesterday.More

We have enjoyed several amazing meals over the past few months and this one was no exception. A family meal for 7 and not a thing left on any plate. We had one child aged 4 with us who was treated really well by the...friendly staff and he was also happy with his menu. Our Gluten free Australian visitor was also impressed with the separate gluten free menu. We will certainly be back for moreMore

A big thank-you to the staff at The Cider Barn for a wonderful evening meal. The Cider Barn can be found at Dunkertons Cider Mill near the black and white village of Pembridge. Inside is very attractive with oak beams and fairy lights - elegant...and spacious. My wife ordered 'Minted lamb loin and croquette, beer glazed onions, mustard mash and cavalo nero' and I chose the 'Treacle cured Herefordshire beef sirloin with smoked BBQ damson jacobs ladder, caraway mayonnaise, rosti chips and a warm fennel slaw' with sautéed vegetables as a side dish. Everything was cooked to absolute perfection. For dessert, we shared a helping of 'Plum and hazelnut frangipane with crème friache cream and mirabelle curd' which was incredible. The staff, namely Elly, Sophie and Lily, were particularly friendly and helpful, We would love to return when we hopefully visit Herefordshire again. Thank you Cider Barn! :)More

We had a great meal here for 6 of us for a family celebration. very warm welcome and service. 2 of our party were vegetarian and it was excellent to have a full alternative vegetarian menu to choose from rather than the usual 1 or...2 choices. All our meals were delicious and perfectly cooked, using lots of local seasonal produce. highly recommended.More

It really is worth seeking out this lovely restaurant tucked away in the beautiful Herefordshire countryside. The menu is imaginative and refreshingly different. Prices are reasonable. The staff are friendly and welcoming. The ambiance is casual and for summer there is an outdoor terrace to...enjoy the splendid location. The Cider Barn is well supported by local diners - always a good sign.More

We booked lunch for four. Friendly welcome and food allergy was double checked from booking. A la carte and specials board. Service was attentive and at no time were we rushed. We all enjoyed our food. Interesting choices, beautiful to look at, well cooked and...really tasty. Seasonal ingredients used in all dishes. We felt the food was of a very high standard, clearly described, good sized portions and not overly fussy or pretentious. We can't wait to go back.More

Visited The Cider Barn for Sunday lunch after reading reviews. Walked there from holiday cottage in Eardisland with our dogs and received a really friendly welcome. Lovely touch of welcome drink - cider or apple juice. Then spoiled for choice with the menu. Fabulous food,...friendly service and welcoming to our dogs. Sat on the terrace outside which has beautiful views. Only downside was that we didn’t have any cash to leave a tip! Would definitely recommend.More

Saturday lunchtime in the heatwave, so decided to drive out to the Cider Barn in the wilds. What a gem. Sat out on the terrace in the heat with a view over unspoiled countryside. Enjoyed a pint of their cider (I stocked up at the...cider house shop) and started with the seared octopus with mussels, chorizo and chive mayonnaise. This was quality and absolutely delicious. Staying with seafood, I followed with red mullet and salt and pepper squid in tomato veloute and a fricassee of runner beans, pancetta and baby potatoes. It was every bit as tasty as it looks. Welcoming and friendly staff, one of whom was time served at The Walnut Tree and it shows. Can’t wait to go back with friends! The inside restaurant areas look magical too.More

A thoroughly enjoyable dining experience. The Cider Barn staff couldn't have been more helpful - the planning of this even went back many months! Inquiries were always answered speedily and efficiently. The meal itself was superb and enjoyed by all - all 18 clean plates!...Service was prompt and efficient. We were recommended The Cider Barn by the host of Baskerville House in Clyro . I can honestly say this was one of the best Sunday roasts I have ever had ( not to sound too gushing but it’s totally true ) All of our...party agreed. The barn itself is stunning, the staff are so friendly and attentive. We were offered a local cider or apple juice on arrival. The menu is spot on and they have a full separate vegetarian menu. My sister took full advantage of this. The cherry soup dessert was a highlight for me, I had no idea what to expect, but I’ll let you find that out yourself ! It’s a treat. They also make frozen meals to take home which we all bought of course. I cannot recommend enough, we are planning to return very soon, when they are hosting one of there music evenings. Thank you for a wonderful experienceMore

Booked a table for a Sunday lunch and had an excellent meal. We were welcomed with a free glass of cider or apple juice (from Dunkertons Mill next door) - really delicious. An excellent choice of options on the menu - we skipped the starters,...and opted for mains of roast beef and the lamb shoulder; both melt in the mouth, with a nice range of vegetables. On to the desserts…..equally delicious. Add in excellent and very friendly service and the whole dining experience was lovely. A must for all foodies!More
