We visit Edie's restaurant annually on our way to Looe, the food is just amazing and the skills of the chef combining all the ingredients is second to none. Really friendly family owned restaurant. Already looking forward to our next visit.

We came for dinner and we were blown away! The food was wonderful and beautifully presented, the wine list was small but perfect and the service was exceptional. We can’t wait to visit again!

Outstanding food and service. All three courses were faultless. My husband is wheat free and vegetarian and nothing was too much trouble. The English Garden cocktail was amazing!

Utterly amazing! We went for my 31st birthday (and I was told I looked 20-25 so obviously the staff are 5*) The meals were delicious, we had soufflé and octopus to start, halibut and hake mains and rhubarb soufflé for dessert (i got a candle...in mine and a wee bottle of fizzy, so so lovely!). The food was out of this world! The octopus so tender and the halibut fell apart. I could eat it everyday forever!More

The menu is limited to either fish, chicken or a cauliflower. We ordered and chose the chicken expecting a chicken supreme, however when it was served to the table it was two tiny thighs and a drumstick. I really didn’t enjoy chewing on cartilage and...picking the meat off the bone in a restaurant which is in the Michelin guide! Main being something my nan could have made at home (chicken and mash)! They also don’t have any draft beers and when I ordered a pimms, I was charged £3.50 for a dash of lemonade! Overrated.More

Had an amazing meal here and the chefs amazing food was the key to our night being awesome, obviously the service was outstanding too but the food took centre stage and I’m really surprised this place doesn’t have a Michelin star far better then any...restaurant in Cornwall! Well done chefMore

We visited for an early dinner with our young daughter and felt really looked after. She really enjoyed the kids pasta and her ice cream. We really enjoyed the monkfish scampi and short rib beef starters. And the mains of Hake and Halibut were even...better. Well worth the visit! Thanks for superb evening.More

Beautiful food, honestly stunning! And the service was second to none. Despite being really high end food, great size portions and a really relaxed atmosphere. We will definitely be back.

Booked Edie’s for dinner for our night away in St Austell. Not being local, when we parked we were a tad sceptical given the proximity to an all you can eat Indian type place and a Chinese that was seemingly closed. However our worries were...immediately dispelled upon entry. It is a bright, vibrant place, with a very modern feel. The design and decor is aesthetically very pleasing. We were seated at the top of a three stair staircase leading up to the main dining area - the reason for the lack of 5 stars. We did feel in the way, the waitresses busily passing us non-stop did make the evening lack that intimate feeling for a dinner one would expect. The service was fantastic, our waitress nailed it, personable, polite and with a touch of humour. Managed to get the timings between courses spot on. We had Negronis and Dark and Stormys to drink, both rather enjoyable. Crisps and a small dip to start was a great touch. The rosemary bread with confit garlic as an appetiser was triumphant. We had the black pudding hash and a monkfish and scampi for starters. Nicely presented and tasted lovely. Both dishes were balanced. For mains we both had the chicken. Whilst not particularly pleasing on the eye, the chicken was perfect, the flavour from the sauce was fantastic, the mash was a touch powdery but still pleasant with the rest of the dish. When the bill came, the service charge hadn’t been added onto it already, (like they do in so many places nowadays) which was actually refreshing for you not to feel guilt tripped into it being expected. We gladly added a tip regardless. Overall, the food was fantastic, the service was great and the ambience and decor exceedingly pleasing. The cool cutlery holder on the tables is also something we hadn’t seen before and definitely added to the dining experience. Would certainly recommend.More

Well where do i start, the hype is real about this place! every-time i come to conrwall i ALWAYS go to edies's as every time i go it still amazes me the same way it did the first time i ever experienced it! the staff...are so well mannered and polite and will always go the extra mile to make us feel welcome. it's such a well ran family orientated business it's honestly the highlight of my weekend every-time i come down from the midlands. when i go back to birmingham i'm constantly telling friends and works colleagues to go if the go to St. Austell. I would defiantly recommend a steak when you go it's to die for!! Nigel the chef makes one of the best medium-rare steaks you could wish for considering i'm a steak lover i can't quite seem to find another restaurant that matches his steaks. overall i would give eddies an 11/10 and i look forward to coming in the near future.More

I always like to have a little flick through other reviews first...make sure I am reviewing the right place etc!! I have to address the elephant in the room - the last review as it has actually made my blood boil. We are the said...locals the 'reviewer' refers to. We have dinned in every Michelin starred restaurant in Cornwall (a very cool way to spend my husband's fortieth year) and have also eaten out at some of the best places in the country. Being a local does not mean we do not have standards. Far from it. Edies is our favourite. We took our three daughters who love the food - lets just take a moment to discuss the kids fillet steak. We let the girls order it thinking my husband might get some - how disappointed was he. Not by the food but that both girls who had ordered it ate the whole thing whilst declaring it the best think they had eaten. Noticing our girls were enjoying the restaurant atmosphere the team went out of their way - and the little touches were very much appreciated - like letting the girls create their own cocktail - they are still telling anyone who cares to listen about this now. As for the adult food - the souffle is a thing of legends so we had to have that along with the Crab Crumpet. Alas, my husband was left disappointed again when I hoovered the whole thing up without realising I had not let him try it. Main - the chicken for me, stunning - the mash is my favourite thing in the whole wide world; whilst the fish for my husband was cooked to perfection. As for desserts. I own a bakery. My sweet tooth is beyond fussy and I hate good restaurants who finish on an after thought of a pudding. Edies is not one of those. The Egg custard tart was a sheer delight - whilst the sweet souffle was beyond or expectations. As for the service. We love the whole team. They have worked hard to create the right balance of 'home' and exceptional service with the buzz of the pretty cool place.More

Not sure but unlikely. It’s a quality place so to drag dogs in would not be appropriate imo. I certainly wouldn’t take my dog in, even if I could

Doubt it but it’s a good place so common sense standards appropriate to this restaurant would be the respectful thing to do. Ie no flip flops and t shirts and board shorts would be my guidance

There were some tables outside of the restaurant mid-June, I would ask the hosts if dogs would be allowed there.
