Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Was very disappointed at both the service and the quality of the food. We went there for coffee and a scone. We waited for quite a while until the young girl serving came to take our order. The café wasn’t busy so that wasn’t a...factor. She just seemed to be on a go slow! The coffee was fine but the scone I had was truly awful. It was supposed to be apple and cinnamon. It was dry and fairly tasteless. We have used this café on many occasions but feel that it’s going downhill. Such a shame. This place used to be a jewel in Angus’ crown but now it needs to buck up its ideas. Not sure if or when we’ll be back.More

Visited Milton Haugh Farm Shop again today and as ever they have an excellent range of items. The vegetables were lovely and fresh. The cafe was busy but our order was taken and food arrived promptly. Fresh local produce and well presented. Cheerful and friendly...staff.More

While we enjoyed the food we had, the rest of the experience was not good. Vacated tables were left uncleared during the whole time we were there in spite of it not being very busy. Had to go and seek out somebody to take our...order for cakes and coffees after main was finished. Went to counter to pay - nobody there so rang the bell twice and finally shouted ‘hallo’ before someone appeared - a radio was playing in the kitchen and was probably the reason nobody heard me. Afraid to say we won’t be back.More

Visited today with my parents and dog for a deluxe afternoon tea as a birthday treat for my mum. As soon as we walked in the door the staff were friendly and attentive, even bringing a bed along with a bowl of water for the...dog. The afternoon tea itself was the best I've ever had, and we needed boxes to bring cakes home because there was so much food. We had also ordered a doggy afternoon tea which was brilliant value for money and going by how quickly it disappeared was as delicious as ours. We have been before for lunch and will definitely be back again when we are in the areaMore

We were in the area a fortnight ago and stumbled on this place looking for morning coffee and bite to eat. The food was excellently cooked and the homebaking peerless. I’m a sucker for a scone with jam and wasn’t disappointed, good sized fresh scone...and jam made by the farm shop. Some of the scone flavours were a bit challenging but there was plenty for the old school. My wife’s roll on sausage was just as good. A bloke (maybe the owner) came over for a chat and advised that we could buy the conserves in the shop which we duly did together with a superb chilli jam. We visited a couple of times before going home. Cannot recommend highly enough.More

I stayed for lunch after a craft workshop held in one of the gorgeous yurts. I had the sausage and chilli jam toastie it came on lovely fresh bread with salad and coleslaw…….absolutely delicious 😋 The waiting staff were great even though it was very...busy, very friendly and helpful with questions about about ingredients. I couldn’t make my mind up which amazing looking cake to take home for a treat, so got two. One for today, the spiced apple……..oh my, it was delicious. I’ve got the Caramac to look forward to tomorrow. Looking forward to my next visit already.More

We took a visit into the this coffee shop after a walk around the local park. We ordered two bowls of home made soup with a juice and a coffee. The soup was absolutely delicious, we didn't order any of the cakes this time as...we were full from the soup. However, when we have visited before, the cakes have always been top notch quality and taste. The Corn Kist really is a hidden gem of a place to visit. The food is always delicious and the staff have always been friendly and welcoming.More

We went out of our way to call in here on the way home from our holiday as you can usually rely on farm shop cafes being better than your average eating place. My husband and I ordered 2 filter coffee and 2 minestrone soup...and ham rolls. The coffee was only lukewarm so I left mine, the soup was nice as was the ham but I was expecting a white roll and it came on brown. When I went to pay the girl asked if everything had been OK and I told her the coffee was almost cold, she said 'oh' and that was it! No apology, no offer to reduce the bill, nothing, very disappointing. Someone also needs to spell check the menu boards, Minestronie and sandwhich were 2 errors I can remember, it shows a lack of care.More

Waited around 10 minutes to be given a table even though one was free but had not been cleared yet. Then waited a further 15 minutes for the waiter to come and take our order. We ordered soup and coffee both were cold. Waiter was...not welcoming at all and looked as if she was bothered by us coming. At the end we were given an eye watering bill. Very overpriced for what it is. We have been here before and they were great then but this time they have let us down. Won’t be back.More

Last time we visited, the service was also terrible, but we let it go. Today, the service was appalling. We waited over 10 minutes just to get a menu. We then waited a further 20 mins to be served with soup and a sandwich. When...it eventually arrived the soup was cold. The girl who served us was not welcoming or friendly in the slightest. Quite the opposite. Bordering on hostile. It was much the same on the last visit. We will not be returning; there are plenty of other places where the service is warm and friendly, and a lot quicker as well.More
