Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

A warm friendly welcoming atmosphere. Good selection of drinks available covering all tastes. The menu covers a good choice of dishes to cover most if note everyone tastes. The service was faultless and the waitress had a good understanding of each dish. We have eaten here a number of times now and I can honestly say we have never had any complaints about each experience. It is probably safest to book a table at weekends in the week you could take a chance.

Had a lovely meal last night at The Plough, it looked so pretty as we drove up. The food was great and the staff were really friendly and chatty. The chef was out the kitchen several times during the evening with lots of compliments from customers. Loved it. Will be taking the family back for sure!

We’ve eaten at the Plough quite a few times in the past (including a fabulous Xmas day lunch a couple of years ago) but this is the first time we’ve made it since the pandemic. Everything was superb. We decided to share a mackerel pate starter so they put some extra toast on the plate. OH had the “signature” lamb rumps which were cooked to perfection and I had a lovely oven baked bream fillet on fennel. Lush! A couple of glasses of the local Hush Heath rose and traditional puds of crumble with custard for him and raspberry bakewell for me.

Kevin and Carol have just started a takeaway service during Covid and they haven't disappointed- the takeaway menu although obviously limited was varied and the meal and desserts were delicious. The only thing missing was the ambience of the pub and the banter of the hosts and their staff. Can't wait for Covid to be over and for things to get back to normal. Pease support this wonderful Pub during these difficult times . Jan and Bob

My wife and i came here for a sunday luch and on entry the Plough was very COVID savvy, with a one way system which was in place and masks had to be worn. We have dined here a couple of times in the past but never on a sunday as we live a good 15 miles away but boy is it worth it. We shared a starter and my wife had the nut roast and i the beef roast and we cleared our plates, and somthing we never do is to have a desert however we felt it should be done. We had the sticky toffe pudding with custard and well how great that was it was divine. The landlady and landlord are very friendly people an the beer is on point, if only we lived closer. Well done to the plough and hope to see you soon.

With the weather as good as it can get, we ate a wonderful dinner "al fresco" in The Plough's tranquil and seclude garden. The service was just perfect; friendly, obliging and attentive and drinks and menus arrived quickly. The menu featured many seasonal dishes and local ingredients and suppliers are plainly an important factor in The Plough's success. The dishes that we chose arrived in good time and there were suggestions as to how the kitchen could alter dishes to suit individual tastes and preferences. Dessert and coffee completed the perfect evening and the sweet song of a Blackcap provided the perfect accompaniment to our dinner.

From London we travelled to the Isle of Sheppey for a camping weekend. We went for a treat. We weren't disappointed and came back for more on the second night. The food is very good, and the service impeccable. The waiter was very attentive, and accommodating for my eldest's gluten free requirements. The landlord is charming and always welcoming.

The food was lovely but the portions were very small. Only 2 slices of beef 3 smallish roast potatoes and a small dish of veg to go around 3 people. If they upped the portions I would return and recommend but until then we wouldn’t be returning as much better value elsewhere at county pubs.

We were able to enjoy evening meal and Sunday lunch oh my the food was amazing and the service very attentive. Staff made us feel welcome and didn’t mind having a chat whilst still providing a great service to all. Pub is a quaint well looked after and very busy, make sure you book in advance. Onto the food. There were specials available as well as the main menu. The shared starter was a good size for two, I had the Steak and Ale pie it was homemade big chunks of steak and happy to bring more gravy when I asked. Plum crumble was great totally full up. Sunday we both had the lamb roast it was delicious. Then the desert menu came I had the strawberry pavlova what can I say it was sublime. So good I even order one to take home that was treated like precious cargo all the way home. I strongly recommend this pub for a lovely cosy meal with friendly staff who are so helpful.

After some amazing experiences elsewhere in the UK, we looked for a restaurant in Kent that could match the food and service. We googled "best belly pork in kent" and the searches returned the Plough Inn. We booked our table and travelled the 30 minutes from medway but manged to go to the wrong Plough Inn, 20 minutes away. We rang them and they were kind enough to keep the kitchen open for us to arrive and even when the kids wanted extra garlic bread they accommodated us. The food was delicious, belly pork was amazing, pie pasties were perfect and the prawn, squid and halloumi platter was demolished without leaving a crumb. The puddings were home made and a perfect end to our meal. We all left feeling full but not overly so and we don't get to eat out very often so would definitely love to come again.

Booked in for a Sunday which was a slog to book due to opening hours. Not quite sure how this can be classed as number 3 in Kent for a Roast dinner. Exceptionally small portions of veg meant to go round 3 people, over cooked yourshire pudding that was very unpleasant and tough but undercooked meat. Service was also poor as our drink sat at the bar for a good 30 minutes after being ordered. Sadly won't be returning very disappointing.

I felt obliged to come on here and write a review following several visits to this little gem. I’ve been here a few times now, at different intervals such as midweek, weekend, evening and afternoon and one thing is consistent - the service! The food is great (fillet steak) and is as expected from such venue, but for the me the service means so much more. I much prefer interacting with the owners directly - it’s more of a personal and attentive service. So I’d just like to say thank you to you all for a great service. Additionally I’d like to say to everyone reading this, if you get a chance, go and find out for yourself. Further; Kevin is more than happy to welcome self-sufficient motorhomes at the venue, in return for dining with them. So do consider this, as it offers gorgeous surroundings.

This pub is definitely worthy of a good review. There were 15 of us for a lunch time meal and it was great. Food was lovely...and warm too and we had more roast potatoes than we could eat! The staff were really attentive. Couldn’t fault the experience and one my colleagues even said it was the best work’s Christmas meal she’s ever had. So would definitely recommend.

Thanks so much to Kevin, Karen and all the team for making my Dad’s 80th birthday celebrations special. The food was excellent, meat eaters, veggies and vegans were all very well catered for. The homemade puddings were yummy (especially the vegan brownie) Communication regarding the booking and menu planning were friendly and helpful. We’ll definitely be back!

We had an excellent lunch here whilst visiting family in the area. Good size roasts, fresh veg and extra gravy all served with a smile and lots of checks we were happy. Leave room for the desserts which were also very good - especially the bread and butter pudding!!
