We had not booked just saw the sign. It wasn't at all expected. The staff were really friendly found us a table quickly and no fuss. Tracy who served us was also the manager, great service and personality. Everything was very clean and the food...was excellent, starter and main courses, we all had different. Too full for a pudding though. Thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and definitely recommend. We will be back next time. Thank you Tracy and your team for looking after us so well.More

Very nice food, me and my wife attended on a Saturday afternoon, couldn't fault any of the food and left happy, but slightly out of pocket. Might not afford a family visit, two mains, two starters, coke and sparkling water and one desert, £69. But...I would still pay for good food and would go again. 👍More

The worst meal we have had at the boot. The restaurant was almost empty when we arrived so not overly busy. Prices have increased dramatically , £19 for a very poor roast beef dinner. The beef was very chewy and full of fat and the...roast potatoes where so hard I could barely eat them. My husband had steak which was very small for the £30 something price tag and the accompanying prawns and onion rings where completely stuck to the bottom of the skillet. For such a high costing meal it really was poor.More

Saved the day!! We booked a table of 20 for a 30th birthday celebration, the pressure was on me to deliver the beautiful hand made cake on time, however this resulted in me calling the restaurant 40 minutes in advance to say Disaster had struck…...the cake rolled in the car! “Just get here and we have chefs on stand by for you to try save it” was the response and boy did they deliver!! Not only did we have starters and mains beautifully timed with fantastic service, but we had a birthday cake (reconstructed) for the birthday girl who was none the wiser!! This is beyond excellent service and we are very grateful, will be back for sure! Thank you to the team and kitchen crew for going above and beyond!More

We met friends at The Boot Inn on a Friday night, it was about half full. We arrived early, and were given a warm welcome by a lovely member of staff, who also offered us a drink at the bar, before showing us to our...table. Our friends arrived about 20 minutes after us. So we had time to chat and enjoy our drinks before they arrived. After our friends arrived, we were offered the menus. The menu has a good selection of food, Asian cuisine and Burgers seem to feature in a big way on the menu. I had the Hummus and Olives to start (£8) and the Crispy Mongolian Lamb to follow (£18) I was expecting a small bowl with a selection of different olives. What I got was a small bowl of black olives, the type you buy already pitted in a jar of brine from Tesco… it was really disappointing to be honest and they aren’t the best, fine for the top of a pizza or salad, but not to eat as part of a starter. The hummus and bread was very nice. The Crispy Mongolian Lamb was was very nice to start with, BUT, by half way through the meal I was feeling that it was rather too crispy and chewy and was staring to become a chore to eat and felt that it was quite overdone/burnt rather than crispy. The sauce was very nice. The noodles that I had with my lamb were very nice, the portion size was good too. Now, one issue I do have is that it’s very dark in the restaurant, with very dim lighting, which means that it was difficult to actually see what was on the plate. My food was very dark, and it was served on a dark plate and with the low lighting, I really couldn’t see properly what I had been served or what I was eating. My friends all had burgers and all seemed happy with the food that they ordered. Good Suff Lovely staff, warm welcome, clean toilets, good portion sizes, prompt service, free parking. Room for improvement If you’re gonna charge £8 for a small bowl olives, you need to up the game and serve better olives and not cheap black olives from a jar. Make it a bit brighter inside the restaurant, I’d really like to see what I’m eating, and I’m sure I can’t be the only one who wants to see what’s on their plate. Itemised billing would be good. We received a hand written bill, and as we were splitting the bill with friends, it would have been easier to see all the purchase broken down rather than “Food”, “Drink” etc. It’s a nice place, with nice friendly staff, and it has a pleasant atmosphere. It’s not the cheapest place in town, but really worth a visit. I hope that the wages they pay their staff are reflected in the prices they charge for their food. I had a Sunday roast here a while back, and couldn’t fault that meal at all. Give it a go…More

A member of my family booked a table for 11 for my dads birthday. The waitress was very pleasant but as the starters came out things were not good from the off. £7 for bland not homemade hummus and black olives from a jar! And...I don’t think anyone on the table really enjoyed their starter and agreed they were extremely overpriced for the poor quality. I ordered the Thai beef massman curry And it was extremely disappointing, the sauce was not made from scratch at all and the beef was tough. It came with prawn crackers which tasted horribly fishy and to top it all off the price was £21 !!!!!!! I could of just about sucked it up if it was £12 but the audacity to charge so much is crazy!!! You can have a beautiful flavourful Indonesian fish curry at rick steins for under £20 and sit in a lovely well styled restaurant. My mums lasagna was so salty it was completely unbearable and again extortionately priced. I did go and complain about the poor food and was told by the manager that her and the chef did not agree with me that there were any problems with the standard of food. I was assured that everything was made from scratch by 7 chefs....... more likely to be 7 microwaves and a large freezer! I must admit I did get quite cross with the manager because it felt like daylight robbery. They took £30 off the tab which was very very disappointing and not one person said they enjoyed it or would ever go back. Do not be fooled into thinking that because it looks expensive that it will be great!!! Find somewhere else! I would go as far as to say that you would probably enjoy a ready meal from the co op more than a meal here.More

Pros: - Food generally very good (delicious steaks and other mixed grill meats, gourmet chips and peppercorn sauce very tasty, nice bottle of wine) 🥩🍟🍷😋 Cons: - Service was a bit slow (waiting around to order mains, desserts, for the bill) ⏱ - Ordered water...that never came 💧 - Some elements of the decor feel a bit odd e.g. the upvc doors make up it seem more like a house than a restaurant 🤷‍♂️ - Chicken in the mixed grill was a tad dry 🍗 - It’s on the expensive side (paid just shy of £30 for each main, £15-£20 for a bottle of wine, and £7.50 for each dessert, so about £100 with tip for 2 people) 🤑 On balance, would definitely come here again as a treat 👍More

Very poor service, left alone for a long time. Had to go to the service desk to check where our drinks had got too. No water given even though I asked for water at the table. We’re told the sweets were on the board but...no one followed up on our choice?? So didn’t order any. Head customer service lady didn’t won’t to know!! when we told her our complaint. No one asked if our food was ok?? But the food was ok. Lots of people put in the same area even when there were tables to give space. It’s a great shame because the restaurant was of very high standard with customer service.More

Decided to pop in and see if they were serving lunch (as NY). Given a warm greeting, very friendly staff. The food choices are varied - which was a nice surprise. I started with Crispy chilli beef, my husband had humus & olives, bread, then...I have steak fajitas and my husband had steak pie with veg... the portion sizes were large and the food was very well presented and tasted delicious. Katie was our waitress and she was so polite and friendly. Would definately recommend and will most certainly be going back. On a very small negative, the back dinning room was a little dark and the olives were not great - but nethier of these things would put us off returning for sure!More

We expected a lovely date night but instead we left after only 35 mins. Our first waitress was really friendly however white shirt blonde waitress who took our main order I found to be quite rude and patronising when all I did was ask about...the ingredients in the sauce as the menu said their Katsu Chicken came with a different style curry sauce. She lectured me about how not a lot of people know but Katsu is actually just the chicken and is nothing to do with the sauce. She repeated this 3 times and I felt like she was talking down to me like I was stupid when all I wanted to know was what was in this different sauce. That kind of soured my mood but the food when it arrived was also disappointing. I know the menu description said the chicken had salt and pepper added but the chicken was so salty I couldn’t really taste anything else. My partner said his stroganoff was alright but he was disappointed that his pint of Ale was warm. The Katsu curry was £16 which seemed crudely overpriced and I’ve actually had a better quality ready meal from Tesco. I didn’t even really eat it because the ultra high salt content made it difficult to enjoy. I said to the waitress about it but then we just paid and left. Disappointing that we paid £42+ for a 35min night out 1 drink each and 1 main each; 1 of which I barely ate. We were really looking forward to coming here this evening but it was a real let down and we won’t be coming back or recommending the place to others.More
