Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Family visit for Sunday Lunch. Food was both excellent in quantity and quality. Between us we had beef, lamb and turkey. All were the best Sunday lunches we have had in a very long time. So good we returned during the week as well and...were again delighted all round.More

Wow what can I say about our Sunday lunch at The Sycamore. The starters were delicious and generous, we had four different starters, garlic mushrooms, smoked salmon and prawn salad, Aranchino, and Cumberland scotch egg. We then had either the Turkey or the lamb roast...dinner. The lamb was the best I've ever had, tasty , succulent and huge, the turkey was also impressive and so generous that we had to take two doggy boxes home. The service was also excellent.More

Had food here this afternoon after our walk. It’s the third time we have been here but the first time for food. The pub has a lovely and fortunately for us today, a sunny beer garden. The interior is lovely too with a welcoming open...fire. The food was amazing and generous portions. It’s dog friendly too. Credit goes to the chef, kitchen staff and the very friendly and helpful Rebecca. Thank youMore

The Sycamore Inn has been the best eaterie we have visited since moving to Buxton. The Sunday dinner was superb with very generous portions. The staff and Bess the dog were all very friendly. We shall be returning and trying out more dishes...but you need to book...as this pub is rightly very popular.More

Great find at the bottom of our garden! We had the chicken skewers and lamb shank followed by ice cream and mini eggs as it was Easter weekend! What a great meal the staff were very friendly and the fire was gorgeous and helped us...dry off from all of the wet walks! Can’t recommended this place enough! Even our dog Enzo enjoyed his time there although he was a bit edgy with Bess the Basset hound! Thank you for a great meal and evening!More

This pub is a little gem in the beautiful village of Parwich, we travelled an hour and a half to eat here. The atmosphere is warm and friendly, the fires make it so cosy and the food is amazing, value for money and so tasty....The portions are large. We shared the garlic mushrooms and honey mustard sausages between four of us to start, the sauce on the mushrooms was incredible (I need that recipe ! ) then two of us had the lamb, one steak and ale pie and one corn fed chicken supreme, all of which were so tasty and an absolute delight. We will be returning again, beautiful place and lots of lovely walks nearby 😃.More

Nice big car park with playground for children on the front lawn. Welcoming friendly traditional pub with open fire. Delicious sounding menu and a good selection of drinks. Cajun chicken kebabs and blade of beef were delicious and well presented as well as fish &...chips from kid's menu. Few locals popping in for a drink, inclusive some on a tractor! We called in at last minute while on holidays.More

Visited as part of a group after a long walk. We were really impressed by the quality of the food, which was amazing. Generous portions of well cooked food served on warm plates with excellent vegetables, which were freshly cooked, piping hot and retaining crispness....The mashed potatoes were the best ever eaten in a pub. Nice atmosphere, very clean. Will be back, definitely.More

We had a Friday night, family meal here. The children ordered small fish and chips and a burger, unlike other places that seem to think kids want processed versions of the real thing it was beautiful pieces of cod with crispy batter and a good...quality burger. Adults had chicken skewers, pork fillet and a cod dish. All of it was beautiful and certainly the best pub food any of us have had in a long time. For anyone that has room, the puddings are equally stunning. In fact even if you don’t have room I’d recommend the biscotti cheesecake which was so nice none of even spoke to each other whilst eating it! Honestly this place has it all, brilliant staff, excellent food and lovely surroundings. There are also some of the most beautiful walks in the Peak District in the area if you need to walk the cheesecake off!More
