Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

It was not to difficult to visit this lovely and hidden place in Jiufen, Taipei, especially if you are a big fan of Spirited Away. We were extremely lucky to find a best viewing seat in this restaurant while we suddenly met a cyclonic rain;...it was wonderful to seeing these traditional houses in a rainy scene. We took a outdoor seat to have a tea with local savouries, (lovely and delicious!) but the rain was too strong, The staffs were friendly to ask us to change to indoor seats, that was really sweet! We also find a easy and lazy way to access this lovely old town. People generally take a train to Ruifang station and transit buses. We just took a directly bus from Fuzhong station (in Banqiao) to Jiufen old street stop! 1.5 hours only! So glad we spent time here and taken good photos for the streets, architectures in the clouds. Would like to visit here again!More

If you are in solo trip, you can’t use this house. If you wait for long time, can’t do also. I think that solo traveler can order same menu with two person. Why they can get in? Why I can’t?

The only good for this place is to take the adjacent a mei coffee house photo which resembles the Spirited Away scenery. The osmanthus tea is good and probably the only drink cheap and worth 160NTD. Every customer needs to order 1x drink at least....Level 3 view is too high, level 2 and 1 is good enough for photo taking at an amateur level.More

We loved the food- we both had noodles. Very good and efficient as our tour only allowed for 30 minutes to eat. Friendly staff even though they didn't speak english. Great atmosphere.

We were seated to a table then, was left neglected. We even have to go to a waitress to ask for menu. When we are ready to order, the waitress started to tell us that what we have ordered are not available, and it took...us some time to decided again. During that period of time, the waitress stood there and waited. It is nice that she is patient but I hope she have some imitative to tell us what is not available at the first place or even recommend something on the menu so that there would not be so much time wasted. We ordered only 2 items; a pot of tea and a plate of pastries, and it took about 20mins for them to be served to our table. This is unacceptable as there are not many people dinning in. All we wanted was something to warm ourself with hot tea and a dessert to go with it after our dinner. I would not patronise this tea-house any more.More
