My sister and I had a wonderful day learning who to cook Italian style, using home grown organic vegetables and local fare. Leonardo, Janey and Luigi are the perfect hosts, informative, friendly and often amusing, and they put their hearts into every thing they do. I would highly recommend, and would definitely book again, perhaps for a special gift for someone dear.

For anyone who wants to learn how to cook authentic Italian cuisine from an expert chef in a small hilltop town in Abruzzo, we whole-heartedly recommend a week at Viscanti Kitchen. The itinerary for each day was a perfect balance between time in the kitchen and extra curricular activities. There were many highlights, including: cooking techniques and ingredients for making tasty Italian cuisine along with 37 secret tips for success, visits to the cheese factory and medieval towns, wine and olive oil tastings, truffle hunting, seeing gardens and learning about the source of each ingredient and how it is used to make a special dish. This itinerary was perfect. But an even more important component was the warmth and hospitality provided by Jaynie and Leonardo. That extended from the love that they bestowed on generating any dish to the interactions they had with local farmers, vinters, and artisans. This was a unique trip for us and we give it our highest possible rating.

My fiancé and I took a day trip to San demetrio and we had the most amazing lunch at the Visconte Kitchen restaurant. We met the two lovely owners and we're absolutely surprised by how brilliant the food and hospitality was. Thier prices aren't crazy and we had a really great experience with the welcoming owners Janie and Leonardo. We will definitely be going back there again in the future!

We had a wonderful day with Leonardo and Walter on our 1 day experience. We made 3 kinds of pasta by hand, Lemon Tiramisu, Boar Ragu, Saffron Chicken. Leonardo was kind and generous with his teaching. We had lots of laughs and would love to do it again. Everyone should go!

We had a group of six and spent all day with Leo, Jainye and Walter learning how to make pasta, saffron chicken, and a lemon tiramisu drinking wine throughout the day. We had so much fun learning and laughing.

This was an amazing cooking class - one of the highlights of my trip to Italy. This was more than a very hands-on cooking class, but an experience that included visiting the garden where most of the ingredients are sourced and a visit to the beautiful waterfall that irrigates the garden. Chef Leonardo and his wife Janey are wonderful hosts who really care about having an authentic experience and go out of their way to make you feel welcome. We prepared 3 different pastas, including one with wild boar that Chef Leonardo hunted, a delicious lemon tiramisu and chicken with saffron from their garden. Chef Leonardo was patient and also focused on making sure I used the right techniques in preparing pasta - I definitely feel ready to prepare these dishes when I’m home. My only regret is that I did not have time for their multi-day classes but I’ll definitely be back. Highly recommend this incredibly special and delicious experience.

We arrived a little later than our booking having visited the caves locally first, but were welcomed very warmly by all the staff at this family run restaurant, especially Jaynie (front of house) & Leonardo (the master chef) . The restaurant is beautifully decorated with art work by both Leonardo and his father and has stunning views from the outside terrace where we were seated. Leonardo is a true artist of the plate and his food is both delicious and locally sourced. We were not rushed and spent an wonderful afternoon in the company of our friends enjoying a wide range of excellent food and drink. Can’t recommend Visconti Kitchen highly enough. Thank you so much Leonardo & Jaynie - we will definitely be back.

We were a group who had a very delicious dinner. The dishes are full of flavour, and I especially like that the ingredients are home grown or bought locally. On top of this, Leonardo and Jaynie are wonderful hosts and people. I highly recommend a visit to this restaurant.

During our stay in the Abruzzi region, my family and I attended the Visconti Cooking Experience. We were welcomed as family and treated as such! The experience was amazing. We learned different recipes, learned about the different flour used in making pasta, made our own delicious pasta with Chef Leonardo!, and toured the families farm picking produce to use in our cooking! This is a must experience! Thank you Jayne, Leonardo and Luigi for this wonder memory that I shared with my family!

We arrived at Leonardo and Jayne’s during some of the worst weather Leonardo had seen in Abruzzo so unfortunately we were unable to go into the garden, but this did not spoil our experience in any way as the day was so wonderful it really didn’t matter. We were treated to a great day learning all about every type of pasta and of course tasting it. Leonardo and Jayne are a great team and the restaurant is so lovely don’t miss the wonderful ceiling hand painted by Leonardos family. We all now feel confident enough to make our own pasta and the ricotta crumble cake is just divine and so easy to make when you know how. Looking forward to an evening visit next time we’re in Abruzzo

We had Ferragosta lunch here with family and friends and as usual the food, wine, service and ambiance were second to none. Having visited Abruzzo many times over the past five years this is still our favourite restaurant by far. Highly recommend a visit BUT you need to book to avoid disappointment as it is very popular.

We have been to the Visconti Kitchen on a number of occasions and it never fails to deliver excellent food, drink and service. Jayne gives very friendly front of house service and is able to tell you from where the ingredients for your meal were sourced; a lot of them come from their kitchen garden immediately below the balcony. Leonardo (a.k.a. James Bond!) is a great chef and is also very welcoming. He consistently produces seemingly simple, mouth-watering dishes that have perfectly balanced textures and flavours. Don’t miss out on the deserts, have one each and “one for the table”, it’s well worth it. If you are eating on the balcony the views across to the villages in the distance, the sweeping valley sides and mountains are great, it is a very pittoresca area. But also the pictures on the inside of the dining area are also wonderful to look at; don’t miss the ceiling paintings. This is a great restaurant, take the time to enjoy good company and a memorable meal.

We went for a small family gathering for August 15th Ferragosto lunch, and what a fabulous spread we had! The food and drink was amazing and plentiful, and the welcome was wonderful. The restaurant was full, but the owners and staff were very friendly and attentive and ensured that everyone was well looked after. The location and views are fantastic too. My favourite restaurant in Abruzzo...... just wish it was nearer to our home.
