Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We made a reservation for dinner here, while staying near Ostuni. It's a beautiful rustic restaurant with very friendly and helpful staff, who navigated us through the menu and made some suggestions after hearing we were vegetarians. The tasting platter with a range of appetisers...is a knockout, and our main courses were extraordinary too. It's interesting how a little town like Ceglie with little to do or see has become a foodie magnet, and its restaurants like Cibus driving this phenomenon.More

Cibus is a restaurant for foodies: good food provided by those with a passion for it. The wine list also good even for those not wild on Primitivo: my advice go white! Nice ambience and service. Once a well kept secret now known to overseas...Puglia visitors. Try it.More

We were on holiday in Italy and my Son in Law suggested this restaurant. 4 adults and two children under 7. The place is lovely and has seating both inside and out. However it was very hot so we chose to be seated inside. We...were given a lovely table at the rear of the restaurant and what a lunch we had ; shared AntiPasti which was lovely selection of meats and cheeses great breads, peppers then wonderful Pasta and the main I had , strips of black pig, was one of the best meals I have ever had. All of us thought the food was First Class. Our server was very very good too ,never obvious but always there to help. We took his recommendation on wine and it was perfect and nowhere near the most expensive on the list. The kids were looked after very well too with pasta and meat dishes. I highly recommend Cibus if you are in Ceglie Messapica the best food and staff and all delivered in a friendly happy way.More

Tucked away up a lane and a few stairs, this restaurant was welcoming and provided great food and wine. Family run and they clearly know how to keep their customers happy. A great and memorable experience.

My siblings and their spouses and I are visiting the area and went to Cibus to celebrate a birthday that occurred while we were traveling from the USA.The service was wonderful and we had a wide and varied eating experience. The six of us shared...2 portions of the Seasonal appetizer which was a great way to start. The pasta course were all very good .The lamb, pork, beef ribs and broad beans satisfied us all. They presented my sister-in -law with a lovely birthday cake . THe price was more than fair for the experience.More

Our third time of visiting and still did not disappoint. Friendly welcoming staff, Really interesting and ‘different’ menu options. All delicious. I had donkey. My son had it previously and liked it. I enjoyed it also. There were a variety of other meat dishes to...try. Then the cheeseboard! Wow - such aged cheese, and treated as a true delicacy to be savoured rather than just to chug down. Lovely! And we will returnMore

We had no idea of their awards when we walked into the restaurant. After an outstanding lunch of artichokes, lamb, cabbage filled with mixed vegetables, and a great wine, we noticed the Michelin and slow food awards. Service was fantastic and we felt so fortunate...to have come across such special place. The outside area was closed due to cool weather but was filled with baskets of fresh fruit and vegetables. Also desert medley recommend by server was perfect end of meal.More

Good food, antipasta was especially interesting and delicious. Cheese was lovely. Back rooms were quite stuffy despite air conditioning - recommend a table out front for more air circulation.

I have had the pleasure of dining at Cibus on three or four occasions. I have found the food, service and ambience consistently excellent and have enjoyed all of my meals and experiences at the restaurant - including a belated 80th birthday party with my...extended for my mother, the first time we have been together in more than two years. Cibus is focused on serving local, seasonal cuisine and this perfectly reflects the regional produce and cooking. The focus is entirely consistent and the setting in a series of vaulted rooms is exceptional - again, adding to the overall feel of authenticity. Service is amazing and, of course, the wine list reflects wines of the region at reasonable prices - and the team is always on hand with a suggestion if you are not sure what to drink or what to pair your meal with. A great experience every time.More

We dined at a table in the entry garden area surrounded by plants and the feeling of tranquility. The food was just perfectly prepared, and representative of the typical cuisine in the area. Service was attentive but reserved, and we enjoyed a relaxing and delicious...meal. We will return!More

Outstanding experience. Some of the main courses dishes offered require so much time and skill to prepare that less and less Italian restaurants can afford nowadays. Take it easy with the appetizers, tempting and delicious and way too many for the average eater (like me)....Instead, may I recommend you focus on the Sagnapenta (pasta) and the Apulian sheep with side vegetables. I was stunned. DO not forget a selection of cheeses (ask to have a look at the cave)More

This was our first table in Ceglie, booked several days before and the perfect way to start our culinary experience. We have been amazed by the taste of the antipasti (real cooking experience, a must to try) and our vegetarian primi were local and very...tasty. The wine selection is big and the deserts are excellent. We also had the opportunity to try local digestives. The seating is also wonderful and service very kind. They speak english. We have been trying to come back several times but the place was always full. Pity.More

My husband surprised me for my 64th birthday by taking me to the restaurant, Cibus in Ceglie Messapica(BR). Due to Covid, I requested to sit outside, but the sun was blaring and the tables had no umbrellas. So, we were seated indoors near the open...door. The waiters understood my concern and were sympathetic when I explained I had recently lost a friend to Covid. The food and service were excellent! The waiter described, in detail, the contents of each dish. The icing on the cake occurred when the waiter presented me with a small birthday cake with a small lit candle. We will definitely return.More
