Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Queued for a good 2 hours. Arrived 1030am prior opening 11am. Place could house around 10 diners at one time. Food is good/ isn’t great. Generally can get fresh tasting dons like this everywhere in Japan. Only unique point is the soup top up that...comes halfway through your meal. Love the broth that makes it distinct from the others. As a tourist, I think it’s good to try once. Recommended to go at odd hours / maybe 4pm for shorter queue time. Will likely not come back to queue for place again.More

i didnt get the highest-price donburi , mine was the 2nd highest (Pine) 2300Yen~ I cannot take too much rice, glad that it ended with some hot soup for your rice for u to "drink" it up Quite a zeitaku (premium/luxury) donburi! but i believe...we should be able to find some closest rival to match it at UENO or somewhere I m glad i m the first to enter the restaurant (after a long q) and i suck them all up within 10mins (first to exit) It is bad to make others wait outside at the queue for too long, i hope travellors can be considerate towards other humans It has a branch at Midtown tokyo or was it at Roppongi!! * hot tea is served FOC for customers queuing outside ~There are four types : plum (1,250 yen), bamboo (1,650 yen), and special (3,600 yen)✨ Note: if u r solo, easier to get a seat!More

After stumbling my way around Tsukiji market with overcrowded restaurants and heavy traffic of people prior to new years eve, I'd made my way to Tsujihan not knowing that it's their last day before new years closure (lucky me!) and stood in the line for...approx 90 mins in cold winter afternoon! however let me assure you, IT'S WORTH IT! the quality of the seafood, the flavour and the second addition of rice and broth just makes everything perfect! They're not that expensive either, all you need to be willing to sacrifice is waiting in line! Will definitely come back again on my next visit to Japan!More

It was my first time having Kaisendon (海鮮どん) which is Japanese seafood rice. The taste was amazing and i wanna visit again. It’s quite close to Tokyo station and you will see the people waiting in a long line but trust me it is worth...waiting.

It is a very different type of seafood rice bowl from what we usually eat. The fish and other seafood are chopped up, so you don't taste the individual ingredients but a complex mix of textures and flavours. The combination is perfect, from the prepared...sauce to the sprinkles in the rice and soup. This hit us at a different level of taste altogether. Service was generally quite alright, although the tiny place was so quiet it was mildly stressful to even pull in your seat. But given the taste, experience and price (even the lowest priced one was unforgettable already), there is nothing to stop us from returning. But on a weekday non-meal timing. That queue is no joke. If you have difficulty finding the place, just look around for the queue.More

My Japanese friend and I went in this place for a lunch during the week. We waited about 1 hour in a long queue outside the restaurant but when inside everything was amazing! Atmosphere, vibes and of course food! I can say now that’s my...favourite Japanese food! We got a bowl of rice with additional red fish eggs for about 18€ each Soup, ginger, additional rice and water are included.More

Great tasting Seafood Donburi with pleasant ambience. The dashi soup was delicious. Best to take it while it is piping hot. Very friendly on the wallet but try to come on a weekday else be prepared to wait 2.5 hours on a Sunday lunch.

It's probably true that the first time is memorable, so we went at "Tsujihan" for the second time and ... it was still excellent, but not memorable. Don't get me wrong, food is superb, the cook is not anymore the old man, now there's a...new generation taking over. It's still very worth visiting it, price is still reasonable (4000 JPY for two pretty rich donburi), staff is ok.More

Extremely tasty and worth for time and money. We have been told that this is one best food in Tokyo. We came 50mins before opening and we were 4th in the queue. By 1100 restaurant has been opened and queue was about 40 persons. This...place accommodate only 12 persons. We took most expensive bowl and were very much satisfied. Price worth for quality of food. We got sashimi mix on top of rice. Dont want to tell further, you better take your own experience in this place. Vivat to chief of this place , true artist!More

We arrived about five minutes before they opened, on Tuesday, and they already had a line! About 20 people were in line. When they opened, they let 12 people in, as this place only has 12 counter seats. While waiting, a staff came out and...started to take orders for the people in line. This will speed up the process, great efficiency! As soon as we sat at our seats, the chef offered us small plates of sashimi. They had four pieces of sashimi with miso sauce. It is recommended to leave two pieces of sashimi for later. They only offer four dishes, and they are all the same sashimi donburi. The difference is the amount of sashimi toppings that you are going to get. We went with Matsu, and added Extra Salmon Roe. Every bite was heavenly, especially for true seafood lovers! Depends on how hungry or full you are, you can either leave some rice in the bowl, or eat them clean. When you are finished with the bowl, put it on the counter, and a staff will pick it up. You can ask him to add some rice in the bowl, and then poured the Sea Bream Broth on top. Here, you put your two pieces into the piping hot broth. Very comforting, warms your body and soul from the inside. We left full and happy. I am so glad we got to try this place while we were in Japan!More

Queue forms by about 1645 for the 1700 opening. We chose the ¥1,980 bowl with uni but we couldn’t see the uni as the elements are chopped up, mixed and served on top of the rice. Taste is good. The sea bream broth is served...after, with additional gohan if u want more, after finishing the main bowl is tasty. But only one serving of broth. However I wouldn’t want to queue for this. Dashichazuke En is a chain (Narita Airport T1, Osaka Stn) that serves similar but with the seafood elements served sliced/cubed, so I can see what I’m eating. The broth is lighter n tastier and cost less than ¥1,000.More

This dish changed my life. Nothing is better than a bowl of perfect cooked rice with all the delightful, fresh and hand-cut fish with hints of sesame. After finishing your fish you can get more rice - if you ask for it - and then...your bowl will be filled up with a beautiful, rich - but not heavy - warm dashi. On a cold winter day the best food you can imagine.More
