Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The breakfast at this hotel is wonderful. There is so much selection, every taste is available. The staff are fantastic, very polite, very accomodating. Nothing us a oroblem. The hotel reception team are amazing. Very helpful and considerant if your Japanese is not to good👋...The rooms are clean, tidy and have great amenities. Soaps, toothbrush and tooth paste. Everything you need. The staff on the roof top bar are amazing . So friendly and curtious. All in all I had a pleasant stay at the Shinjuku hotel. Would return, and definitely recommend to friends and family. Sayohnara team Regards KevinMore

Went to this bar many times during our stay in Tokyo (it was at our hotel). Very good gin tonic, nice view and the service was super. A bit pricy, but absolutely the nicest bar we found around this area 🙂

The restaurant at the hotel now only provides breakfasts if you wish to dine in at the hotel you have to go to the Roof Top Bar which only provides a limited range. Good place to sit down have a few drinks and nibbles while...planning the next day.More

We were looking for a rooftop to have a drink and enjoy the view around Shinjuku and we went here. The view is cool and you can smoke outside at your table. We did not try any of the food and the cocktails, based on...past reviews of this place. The prices are quite high: 8 Euro for a beer, 7,50 for a sake and a 4,5 Euro charge per person if you are not a guest of the hotel. The staff is not particularly friendly (based on Japanese standards). The first time we tried to go here was on Sunday night (the only night when they close early, at 23:30) and they let us in 10 minutes before closing but kicked us out punctually. (With our drinks unfinished obviously). Fair enough but a simple rejection would have been both financially and socially better.More

As hotel guests we were spared the Y500 cover charge. It is on the 13th floor with views that are great at night. It opens at 5.00pm and has a happy hour up to 7.00pm. Snacks and light meals are available but we decided to...move on at 7.00 to find a wider choice at better prices.More

We were staying at the Granbell Shinjuku at the time of our visit, so it was convenient for us to just pop by the rooftop bar. First thought was that the indoor seating area is quite cozy and the outdoor is spacious but rather bare,...except for a LED-scripted wall at the back with some quirky caption for Instagrammers, I reckon. To be honest, I didn't enjoy the mimosas that we ordered. I found it to be too watered-down you can barely taste the champagne - so that was a let-down for me. We didn't try the food as we already had a sumptuous dinner at the Ninja Restaurant (HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!). Though based on reviews, their nachos are supposed to be good.More

This was a nice place, not amazing. It was close to our hotel, hence we visited. The view was Ok, but nothing special. The staff were efficient and friendly and there is a cover charge if you are not staying at the hotel. Drink prices...were similar to other establishments.More

There is a cover charge if you aren't staying in the hotel. The drinks are reasonably priced and the food is OK. This is a great place to meet other tourists. It doesn't open till 5pm.

We stayed at the Granbell so it was super handy to have a nice restaurant and bar above us. The Nachos are great and the view is even better.

We just had cocktails and a platter but it was lovely. Great view and the staff were lovely. Drinks were quite small and it was a little cold without the heaters turned on but great place overall.

Had drinks and a snack here. Charged a fee per person just to sit down (not uncommon in Japan). Cocktails not to bad but the pizza wasn't very good and expensive for what you got. Nice outside views but too windy on the evenings we...were there.More

Great roof top bar, Restaurant on 12F was undergoing renovations when I was here, so could only have bar snacks. Surprised that smoking was allowed inside the bar after 10pm.... Bar service was prompt, yet junior.

Good option for breakfast for those who are staying um Granbell Hotel. Around 130¥, they offer a great options of bread, hot food and beverages. You can eat soy soup, japanese rice and salad in the mourning at the buffet. Excelent service and great view...from Shinjuku área. Great option for other meals.More
