Was in Osaka March last year and didn't go here because i don't wait in queues. Thanks to Corona, there were no Chinese tourist, hence, no queues to wait in. This place was so good, we went the following day as well. I really don't...understand the negative reviews. As a chef, I thought the Okonomyaki was one of the best I have had. As for the staff, very friendly. I noticed that people from certain countries get frustrated because they don't speak English or Japanese and find it hard to communicate, that does not make the staff rude, if they can't understand you. Learning a few basic words in Japanese before you come here is really appreciated by the locals. Highly recommend this place, glad I was able to try it this trip.More

This is a Michelin recommended place, not starred. We kept hearing "Michelin Star" when we were in line for it, just thought we would clarify. However, was it worth the 15mins wait we spent waiting outside? You bet! Guests are seated right up against the...teppanyaki when we got inside. Their signature okonomiyaki is the nagaimo one (mountain yam), we ordered one with seafood and a Mizuno style one (traditional one with eggs and noodles). I have always liked nagaimo but having it fried up crispy with all the fixings were a whole different experience. Smelling both okonomiyaki while they were cooking was tantalizing enough, putting those crunchy bites in my mouth made me feel like the whole trip to Japan was already worth it (mind you, it was only our 2nd day there). Washing everything down with an ice-cold beer? Satisfactory to the max. It is a little pricey compared to other okonomiyaki restaurants, it was a little over 40usd for the 2 of us but we thought it was all worth it.More

The main reason we went to Mizuno is because they offer vegetarian okanomiyaki. If you don’t have dietary preferences, I would suggest going elsewhere for a more authentic experience and likely more tasty experience.

Bad Staff Attitude Force to order: only allow to dine in if each order 1 set on their own, no take away. Shame Even though with compact dining area, we do not mind. The thing is when come to our request on warm sky juice...due to cold weather, they rejected instantly. No space to keep our bag and force us to sit on our bag. Received bad comment from tripadvisor and my fellow colleague, however we still believe that all the comment might due to personal issue. Until we pay a visit, this has been proved that the bad comment indeed is real. Please visit and you will know what I have experience there ThanksMore

This is a listed Michelin guide restaurant but thankfully Michelin did not award any Michelin star to this dump. This restaurant is 100 % overhyped and over rated. The okonomiyaki I had was nothing to shout about. I had tried okonomiyaki in several other restaurants...and Mizuno did not stand out. The chef used his bare hands to handle raw food and did not wash his hands after handling raw meat and seafood. He just wiped his hands on his dirty apron. Absolutely disgusting hygiene practices. I also noticed that none of the chef spoke English and it was so obvious that they get frustrated when they had to communicate with non Japanese speaking customers. I definitely do not recommend this overpriced (cost a lot more than other restaurants selling the same stuff) and overhyped restaurant with very poor service.More

I love okonomiyaki. I was told that Mizuno is excellent so we queued up for it, even though there are dozens of other okonomiyaki restaurants in Osaka. The experience can't be faulted. The okonomiyaki is cooked right in front of diners and the ingredients are...fresh. The food was overall great. But I can't help but think that the okonomiyaki at other restaurants or stores wouldn't have been too far off. We ate modanyaki and yakisoba at a small joint in Kuromon Market, and they didn't taste very much different from the okonomiyaki at Mizuno. Neither did it taste extremely better than the other okonomiyakis i've tried over the years. I suppose this is a type of food which can't go very wrong.More

Okonomiyaki restuarant Michelin rated using yam instead of flour. Very delicious as we tried the 4 top rated dishes . Expect to wait as many people waiting

Great food, the chefs are very skilled, the ingredients are very fresh. Waiting in line is worth it.

Waited an hour but was within expectations initially since this place is known for long queue and waiting time due to its Michelin status. Orders were taken prior to entry and it was made known to us that we cannot add more items to the...list once the order has been firmed up while at the queue. Okay accepted that as the restaurant's policy. Asked to head up to level 2 and wait for seat to be ready. No one to usher you in. Need to look out for ourselves the empty table and assumed that was our seats. Seated and the chef came immediately to cook the ingredients on the hot plate. Shocked to see him used his hands to throw in the scallops and pork on the hotplate. Okay that was I guessed, Japanese efficiency. We tried to whip out our cameras as fast and managed to capture a shot before chef came with the batter. We eventually ended with bits of burnt food. Okay, perhaps hotplate being overheated since it had been more than 7hrs since its opening time. But what we didn't like was chef could not bother to explain where our 3rd item was. Managed to ask the server that took our order. He just curtly replied, "Later." 3rd item sure came but pre- cooked at some place behind our seats. Oh well, turned out bland and hard. Okay, we can "pass" that since taste is subjective. What it's not a "pass" was how the chefs while hanging near the food prep area behind were talking and laughing between themselves at how my child was finding the okonomiyaki too hot for her to chew at the first bites. It affected my child who became conscious that she was being watched and talked about. She began to stop eating for a while and kept her head down. If I knew how to speak Japanese...seriously, this attitude was uncalled for. SO, Mizuno ain't worth the wait! I even thought I could be a convert to love okonomiyaki since I wasn't a fan of this food fare to begin with. Disappointed.More

I went here with my friend. This restaurant is famous for Yamaimo Yaki, so I ate it. It was very fluffy and delicious! Of course alone is fine, but there is also a menu for two people, so I recommend you to go with your...friend. Please go to this restaurant!More

I agree with the previous comment. Each meal is created to meet one person's requirements/taste. It would be preferable to order individually.

Best is go in between hours or after peak hour. We were there at 8pm. And wait for 20mins. But by 9pm, the crowd cleared considerably
